‘Agent Kim Reactivated’ might not be done just yet. Following its status as one of the biggest drama hits of 2026, the SBS series has initiated early discussions regarding a potential second season.

As reported by Korean entertainment outlet OSEN, talks for Season 2 have commenced after the first season’s conclusion. However, the production team has yet to announce a confirmed schedule or official timeline for production.

The drama quickly gained immense popularity after its premiere. ‘Agent Kim Reactivated’ debuted with a robust 9.5% viewership rating for its first episode and continued to grow week after week. By its fourth episode, the series surpassed the 20% mark, achieving a 21.6% rating.

This trend of popularity persisted throughout the season. The show maintained viewership above 20% for seven consecutive episodes, concluding its 10-episode run with a nationwide rating of 23.0%, according to Nielsen Korea. The peak viewership reached an impressive 27.1%.

Given its strong performance and dedicated audience, fans quickly began speculating about the possibility of another season. This speculation intensified after lead actor So Ji-sub expressed his interest in working on a season-based drama format during SBS Drama Media Day. According to OSEN, the actor previously mentioned that he preferred the continuation of a drama over receiving acting awards.

The first season centered on Kim, an ordinary father who transforms into a formidable force while striving to protect his daughter. The series skillfully blended themes of revenge, action, and family, showcasing various aspects of fatherhood through its main characters.

The finale also left the door open for a possible continuation. After defeating Joo Hak Construction, led by Joo Sang-wook’s character, Kim was seen embarking on a new chapter by joining Baekho Employment Agency. The introduction of a new character, Lee Do-gyu, has also sparked speculation that a second season could delve deeper into Kim’s story and his connections within the agency.

A representative from the production team confirmed that discussions are progressing positively but noted that further details still need to be finalized.

“Thanks to your immense love and support, we are currently discussing Season 2 of ‘Agent Kim Reactivated’ positively. However, as Season 1 has just wrapped up, we kindly ask for your understanding as the detailed schedule is yet to be determined. We will share updates as soon as they are confirmed,” the representative stated.

SBS has established a reputation for producing successful dramas that continue for multiple seasons, and ‘Agent Kim Reactivated’ could be another title to follow this trend. While fans may need to wait for more official announcements, the early discussions indicate that Kim’s story and his new mission may not be over.

For now, the first season has concluded after captivating a strong audience and gaining recognition as one of the standout Korean dramas of the year. Should Season 2 proceed, viewers will be eagerly watching to see how the next chapter unfolds.
