‘Ahsoka’ season 2 is poised to be one of the most ambitious installments in the Disney Plus era of Star Wars, and the confirmed returning cast is already generating excitement among fans.

As reported by Screen Rant, at least thirteen characters are confirmed to return for the new season, traversing both the distant world of Peridea and the main Star Wars galaxy, where Grand Admiral Thrawn’s Imperial Remnant is becoming a formidable threat.

The most notable casting confirmation is that Hayden Christensen will reprise his role as Anakin Skywalker, though the specifics of his involvement remain unclear. Whether this will involve more appearances as a Force ghost, flashbacks from the Clone Wars, or something unexpected related to the cosmic entities known as the Mortis gods is yet to be revealed. His return is significant for fans who have followed Christensen’s journey throughout the prequel trilogy and the first season.

Additionally, it has been officially confirmed that Rory McCann will take over the role of Baylan Skoll from the late Ray Stevenson, who sadly passed away just before ‘Ahsoka’ season 1 premiered.

According to Screen Rant, concept art from the Star Wars Celebration panel indicates that Baylan and Ahsoka will once again engage in lightsaber combat as the fallen Jedi continues his quest for the mysterious source of power on Peridea, which is tied to the Mortis gods. McCann is stepping into a significant role, which has become one of the most intriguing original characters introduced in recent Star Wars television.

Both Ahsoka Tano and her Mandalorian apprentice Sabine Wren are confirmed to return, still stranded on Peridea at the end of season one. Ezra Bridger, who made his way back to the main galaxy aboard Thrawn’s Star Destroyer, will be gearing up for battles with the New Republic, finally embracing his role as an active Jedi hero after nearly a decade of exile.

Hera Syndulla is also back, now leading New Republic forces against Thrawn’s expanding power, likely with a sense of vindication given how little attention her warnings received in season one.

Other returning fan favorites include the ancient Jedi droid Huyang, voiced by David Tennant, and the beloved chaos engine Chopper, who Dave Filoni has promised will have a more prominent role. Concept art even shows Chopper wielding a blaster, which is quintessentially on-brand. Zeb Orrellios also appears in the season two concept teaser, setting the stage for all surviving ‘Star Wars Rebels’ Spectres to finally unite in live-action for the first time.

On the villain side, Grand Admiral Thrawn returns with the Nightsisters at his side, and Dathomir appears to be his new base of operations. His enigmatic right-hand man, Captain Enoch, is also back. One of the most intriguing matchups in the new season will be the confirmed confrontation between Thrawn and Admiral Ackbar, a pairing with deep roots in Timothy Zahn’s original Thrawn novel trilogy. ‘Ahsoka’ season 2 is set to premiere on Disney Plus in 2026.
