The first trailer for Murderbot is here, and it gives fans a glimpse into a strange and exciting sci-fi world. The new series stars Alexander Skarsgård as a security robot who hacks its own programming and names itself “Murderbot.” Despite being designed for protection and spying, all it really wants is to be left alone to watch TV shows.

Murderbot is based on The Murderbot Diaries by author Martha Wells. The TV series was created by Chris and Paul Weitz and premieres on May 16 on Apple TV+.

The story is set in a future where powerful companies control space travel and exploration.

Murderbot is sent on a mission to protect a group of scientists, including their leader Dr. Mensah (played by Noma Dumezweni) and a part-human team member named Gurathin (played by David Dastmalchian). Although Gurathin and Murderbot share similar traits, they don’t get along well.

The show blends serious topics with dark humor. Murderbot’s thoughts are funny and sarcastic, but the story also includes deep emotional moments, tough choices, and intense action scenes. Fans of the books will be happy to see that the tone of the series seems true to the original stories.

The first season will have 10 episodes. The first two will release on May 16, and the rest will air weekly, with the finale scheduled for July 11.

The Murderbot Diaries series has won many awards and is loved by fans. The books are available now in print, digital, and audiobook formats.
