Andrew Garfield has openly addressed recent fan theories suggesting he might secretly appear in ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’, sharing his candid thoughts on the speculation.

The buzz began after Marvel unveiled the first trailer for ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’. Fans quickly honed in on a particular shot at the trailer’s conclusion, with some believing that the scene could have been digitally altered to conceal additional characters, reminiscent of Marvel’s approach with ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ prior to its release.

In that earlier film, the surprise returns of Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire were kept under wraps until the movie premiered. This has led fans to speculate that Marvel might be employing a similar tactic once again.

During an interview with Capital FM, Garfield was asked about the theories and reacted strongly while watching the trailer moment in question.

He remarked, “This feels like a reach to be honest, what do you mean there’s room for more characters? It’s literally just space underneath Spider-Man. They’re all headed to Spider-Man. There’s room for more characters in every frame of the film, probably.”

Garfield further added, “This is insane. This is absolutely ludicrous conspiracy theory level attempts at investigative journalism. You’ve lost your damn minds.”

With a touch of humor, he concluded, “You notice that I didn’t say I wasn’t in it though, right?”

The scene that has fans buzzing shows Spider-Man swinging towards a group of ninjas. Some viewers believe that parts of this moment appear edited, hinting that hidden characters may have been removed or obscured.

Online speculation has escalated, with fans theorizing about potential surprise appearances from other Marvel characters. Names like Hulk, portrayed by Mark Ruffalo, and a mysterious role linked to Sadie Sink have surfaced, although none of these claims have been substantiated.

Garfield isn’t the only actor addressing these rumors. Charlie Cox, who portrays Daredevil, was also questioned about the same trailer. He stated, “I’m not in it. I don’t know what you’re talking about, but I’m not there. Unless they put me in after the fact using computer generated images, I’m not there.”

Despite the swirling speculation, Marvel and the film’s production team have yet to confirm any hidden characters involved in the movie.

For now, fans will have to wait for the release of ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ on July 31 to uncover what is real and what is merely internet conjecture.

Marvel has a knack for keeping fans on their toes, which is why these theories proliferate so rapidly. While sometimes fans may overanalyze minor details, Marvel’s history of concealing surprises only amplifies the excitement. What do you think is happening in that trailer scene?
