Anna Faris Shares Unused Jokes From ‘Scary Movie 6’
Anna Faris has revealed that some of the most outrageous ideas for ‘Scary Movie 6’ didn’t make it into the final cut, including a joke that would have taken her character, Cindy Campbell, down a political conspiracy path.
Discussing the scenes that were ultimately left out, Faris mentioned her desire to portray Cindy in an even more outrageous light than what viewers experienced. She envisioned Cindy as someone deeply engrossed in bizarre online theories and public confrontations.
Faris explained, “I was always pushing for Cindy to be a classic MAGA rabbit hole. The kind of person that you saw outside of the Walmart during Quarantine that was raising some kind of crazy ass fuss.”
One particular deleted scene stood out to her. She described a moment where Cindy, heavily intoxicated, was in her truck giving herself a peculiar pep talk. Faris recalled, “There was a moment that I’m getting just wasted, just so drunk, and then I look, I’m in my truck of course, and I look into the rearview mirror, and I say ‘Be best Cindy Campbell be best.’ That didn’t make it, but I liked my little wink there.”
Though the joke was cut, Faris seemed to relish the creative freedom that came with returning to the franchise. She noted that the outrageous nature of the series allows actors to take risks that might not be feasible in other films.
Reflecting on the franchise’s comedic style, she stated, “I’m in a movie that is truly like the most offensive movie ever made and I’m the lead of it and I participate in offensive ideas. I think I can kind of do anything. It liberated me.”
This new installment marks Faris’ return to the franchise after a long hiatus. ‘Scary Movie 6’ brings back several familiar faces, including Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Regina Hall, and Faris herself. The plot follows Cindy Campbell, Ray Wilkins, Brenda Meeks, and Shorty Meeks as they reunite after a masked killer resurfaces, linked to the events of the original film.
This project is particularly noteworthy as it marks the Wayans family’s return to the franchise for the first time since ‘Scary Movie 2’. Their exit after the second film was due to creative differences, making this reunion a major talking point surrounding the sequel.
Directed by Michael Tiddes and penned by Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Keenen Ivory Wayans, Craig Wayans, and Rick Alvarez, the film premiered in U.S. theaters on June 5.

Critical reception has largely mirrored that of previous entries in the series, with reviews ranging from mixed to negative. However, audience interest remains strong, as the film has already grossed over 100 million dollars worldwide against a reported budget of around 30 million dollars, marking it as a commercial success despite the critical feedback.
For fans of the franchise, Faris’ insights provide a peek into the types of jokes and concepts that were considered during production. While some of the more controversial material was ultimately cut, it’s evident that the creative team explored a variety of outrageous directions before finalizing the film.
