Anthony Carrigan Talks About Metamorpho in ‘Superman’: “Hopefully, you’ll see that what I’m trying to do is accurate.”

As you know, July 11, 2025 is going to be a big day for fans of Superman, as James Gunn’s highly anticipated movie is coming out and everyone’s hopeful that the DCU will kick off with a proper hit.
Many characters are set to appear in this movie, and while the main focus of the fans will be on Lex Luthor, another important supervillain is also going to make his cinematic debut.
Anthony Carrigan will, as you know, appear as Metamorpho in the movie, and in a recent talk with the press, he revealed some interesting details about his role.
Emmy-nominee Anthony Carrigan is no stranger to the world of DC Comics. He had a very successful stint as Victor Zsasz in Gotham, and now he is coming back to the world of DC to play Rex Mason / Metamorpho in Gunn’s Superman movie.
We’ve recently seen the first official image of Carrigan in the role and the actor has recently revealed more information about the role in the latest episode of DC Showcase:
Carrigan discussed both the character himself as well as his own approach to the role and he revealed several important moments, as you can see in the video. But there was one that stuck with us.
“There’s one moment in the movie in which I had to do something, and I studied hard the night before because it was important to me to actually figure out, *chemically*, how to do this thing,” he said. “So hopefully if you see me muttering certain things, and are able to lip read, and know what’s happening, you’ll see that what I’m trying to do is accurate.”
This scene doesn’t reveal much in terms of spoiling the plot, but it stuck with us because it shows Carrigan’s dedication to the role, as well as his desire to deliver a good and authentic role for the fans. Hopefully, the fans will appreciate this dedication.
