Charlize Theron is candidly discussing her approach to raising her two daughters and the kind of life she envisions for them as they mature.

Theron, who has two adopted daughters, Jackson, 14, and August, 11, expressed her desire for them to grow up without the expectation of an easy life or financial support without effort. She aims for them to grasp the importance of hard work and independence from an early age.

She emphasized that significant purchases will not be handed to them. According to Theron, essentials like a first car must be earned and will not come with any luxury or privilege. She humorously noted that new drivers shouldn’t expect anything fancy right away.

She remarked, “First of all, your first car is going to be a Datsun, because you’re going to crash it. You’re going to f— it up somehow. You’re a new driver. So, we’re not getting, like, the nice car up front.”

Theron also discussed how she utilizes everyday situations to teach her children about real jobs and responsibility. She often points out employees in places like Starbucks to illustrate what consistent work looks like and how careers can develop from humble beginnings.

She explained, “Yeah. Every time we go to Starbucks, I’m like, ‘Look at this … Do you see how friendly? You have to be that friendly every morning at 6 a.m. Start getting ready for it.’”

Her primary message revolves around preparing her daughters for adulthood in a realistic manner. She hopes they will grow into individuals capable of self-sufficiency without relying on her wealth or fame. For Theron, fostering independence is a lesson best learned early and practiced consistently.

She added, “It’s too soon to kind of say where they’re going to end up. They just need to get a job that pays them, because I don’t want to support them for the rest of life.”

The actress has shared her thoughts on parenting in various interviews. In previous discussions, including one on Call Her Daddy, she reflected on her journey as a single mother and how adopting her children transformed her life. She often describes motherhood as a source of purpose and stability.

Her recent comments reinforce this philosophy. She is dedicated to raising her daughters in an environment grounded in responsibility, effort, and the importance of earning their own money. Rather than relying on privilege, Theron wants them to recognize that success is a result of hard work, not entitlement.

Through her podcast appearance, Theron made it clear that her parenting style is firm yet practical. She is not attempting to shield her daughters from reality but is instead preparing them for it step by step, with the hope that they will become independent adults capable of standing on their own.
