The journey to ‘Avengers Doomsday’ has transformed into a lengthy scavenger hunt, with fans diligently assembling clues from toy aisles long before Marvel Studios is prepared to reveal anything. Featuring one of the largest ensemble casts in franchise history and a villain cloaked in mystery, every blurry image of a box or instruction manual generates its own news cycle.

This secrecy has been particularly evident regarding Robert Downey Jr’s portrayal of Doctor Doom. Despite the release of four brief trailers for the film, the character has scarcely made an appearance, leaving toy databases, brick leaks, and merchandise tidbits to fill the void that Marvel’s marketing team has left.

Now a new claim has surfaced that elevates the speculation to a whole new level. A rumored LEGO listing for a Doctor Doom versus Thor set, allegedly part of a wave of Marvel sets set to arrive in January 2027, reportedly features Thor, Doctor Doom, and a female Doctor Doom, all designed as mechs.

This claim emerged from the depths of toy leak culture, a community known for both accurate predictions and complete misses in recent months. According to a report referencing a post from the r/Legoleak subreddit, the claim about the female Doctor Doom remains unverified, and healthy skepticism is encouraged even as the theory gains traction.

Nevertheless, the source of the leak holds some credibility among seasoned collectors. The report attributes the rumored lineup of eight sets to insights from Brick Fanatics, citing leaker BrickTap alongside accounts known as maxbautde and a.clay.brick. Historically, LEGO leaks have provided some of the most reliable previews of character designs ahead of major Marvel releases, as the toy pipeline often locks in months before a film’s marketing catches up.

A female Doctor Doom variant would represent a significant twist for a character traditionally linked to Victor von Doom and Robert Downey Jr in this film. Whether this hints at a multiversal variant, a completely different character assuming the Doom mantle, or merely a mech piloted by someone else remains pure speculation at this point, but it hasn’t stopped fans from generating theories online.

This isn’t the first time toy leaks have sparked discussions surrounding ‘Avengers Doomsday.’ Doctor Doom’s design has largely been pieced together through Hasbro figures and LEGO minifigs rather than official reveals, with fans getting their clearest look yet at his silver and green armor through a leaked minifigure. That leaked LEGO figure closely aligned with earlier Hasbro images that prominently featured Doom’s armor and red energy accessories.

The broader leaked LEGO wave also suggests other ambitious sets tied to the film’s extensive scope. One rumored set, a 1,261-piece Marvel Skyline build, is said to potentially include a Galactus minifigure along with Human Torch and Spider-Man nanofigs, and could depict iconic locations like Avengers Tower, the Baxter Building, the Sanctum Sanctorum, and the X Mansion, alongside builds of the Quinjet and the Fantastic Four’s rocket.

With ‘Avengers Doomsday’ bringing together heroes from the Avengers, the X-Men, and the Fantastic Four, it’s no surprise that the merchandise rollout would be equally massive. As the film approaches its December release, expect toy aisles and leak communities to continue filling in the gaps that Marvel has intentionally left open.

None of this has been confirmed by LEGO or Marvel Studios, and as with most leaks of this nature, names, piece counts, and character lineups could easily change before anything becomes official. For now, the prospect of a female Doctor Doom has given fans yet another mystery to ponder as they await a proper trailer.
