‘Avengers: Doomsday’ LEGO Leak Reveals Full HQ Look at Doctor Doom’s Bust Set
Marvel Studios has kept Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom under wraps for an extended period, making toy leaks the primary source for fans piecing together his appearance in ‘Avengers: Doomsday.’
With a few Hasbro figure leaks and a brief, heavily obscured cameo in the post-credits scene of ‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps,’ fans have mostly gathered details about the character’s silver and green comic-accurate armor through fragments rather than official announcements.
LEGO has emerged as a significant source of these fragmented reveals, with rumors of a dedicated Doctor Doom bust set circulating since earlier this year. These rumors solidified in June when a minifigure leak provided fans with their most detailed look yet at the character’s design, closely aligning with Hasbro’s action figure leaks regarding his hooded cloak and armored suit.
Recently, high-quality images have surfaced online, showcasing the full packaging and box art for the anticipated Doctor Doom LEGO bust. This gives fans their clearest view yet of how the finished display piece will appear on store shelves. The images feature the completed bust alongside its included minifigure, all packaged in LEGO’s familiar Marvel branding, with Doom’s green hooded silhouette glowing against a dark backdrop.
The set, cataloged as 76345 Doctor Doom Bust, is rumored to contain 379 pieces and is expected to launch in September, just a few months before the film’s theatrical release. If it follows the format of previous entries in LEGO’s Marvel bust line, such as the Iron Spider-Man and Iron Man MK4 busts, it will likely serve primarily as a display piece rather than a playset, featuring a stand and intricate detailing around the character’s iconic mask and hood.
The exclusive minifigure is particularly noteworthy, as it would mark the character’s first new Doctor Doom minifigure in over a decade. Earlier leaks from the LEGO community had already shown that figure sporting Doom’s signature green cloak and silver armor plating, and the newly revealed box art appears to confirm that same design will carry over into the final packaged product.
The timing of Doom’s merchandise rollout has been unusually strategic compared to Marvel’s typical marketing for major villains. Despite four trailers released for ‘Avengers: Doomsday,’ the character has been largely absent from any official footage, with only a brief, shadowy glimpse provided in the post-credits scene of ‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps.’ This scarcity has turned every toy leak, from Hasbro’s Titan Series figures to LEGO’s minifigure reveals, into a de facto preview of the character ahead of any studio-confirmed materials.
Interestingly, earlier reports on Doom’s LEGO minifigure noted that his brick-built design includes subtle nods to both Thor and Captain Marvel, raising speculation about the potential roles of those characters in the film’s plot. Whether these details carry over into the bust set’s larger sculpt remains unclear from the newly surfaced images, but it adds another layer of intrigue for fans already analyzing every aspect of Doom’s design for clues.
‘Avengers: Doomsday’ is set to hit theaters on December 18, directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, and will reunite several major MCU stars, including Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, and Chris Evans. With Doom’s on-screen reveal still tightly guarded months ahead of release, LEGO’s steady stream of set images and leaks is likely to remain one of the most consistent glimpses into the villain’s design until Marvel decides to unveil more.
