‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Popcorn Bucket and Doctor Doom’s Glowing Head Go Viral
Movie theater merchandise has become a blockbuster tradition. A major release now often includes a new sculpted popcorn bucket, with fans eagerly lining up for them just as they do for the films themselves. The trend, which Marvel has significantly boosted, is back with the studio’s latest crossover.
The MCU boasts a growing collection of memorable concession collectibles. Previous items include a collapsible Captain America shield tub for ‘Captain America: Brave New World,’ a massive Galactus head bucket for ‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps,’ and a nano gauntlet for ‘Avengers: Endgame Encore.’ The era of unique, custom-sculpted buckets that went viral online began with ‘Deadpool & Wolverine.’
Now, the ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ popcorn bucket and drink cup have been revealed. DiscussingFilm shared the first look on X, crediting Cinemark as the source, and the images quickly garnered hundreds of thousands of views. Both items feature Doctor Doom, portrayed by Robert Downey Jr., which aligns with the villain’s prominent role in the film’s marketing.

The bucket is designed to resemble Doom’s hooded metal mask, complete with glowing green eyes. While the images do not specify where it opens, one outlet speculated that the back of the head is the most likely entry point. The cup is even more intricate, depicting Doom seated on a stone throne adorned with geometric symbols.
The throne’s walls form the body of the cup, rising towards the straw, while embossed logos appear in the stone above him. Translucent green sections at the top and a green straw give the cup an eerie glow. Together, these two pieces create a matching set for collectors.
Before fans rush to the box office, there are some caveats to consider. Several outlets have noted that the items have not yet appeared on Cinemark’s website or its X account, and others have mentioned that the authenticity of the images remains unconfirmed. One site pointed out that the circulating images could potentially be AI-generated, and it is still unclear whether the items will be exclusive to Cinemark.
This caution is important, especially since fan concepts have circulated for months. Back in December, artist Bosslogic’s Doom bucket concept gained significant attention, even prompting Downey to share the artwork. Until Marvel or Cinemark makes an official announcement, it’s best to treat these details as unconfirmed.
The reveal fits perfectly into an already Doom-centric marketing campaign. Marvel released an ‘Endgame Encore’ poster on September 25 featuring the villain sitting in a theater seat, holding a red nano gauntlet filled with popcorn beneath the phrase “Doom Shall Attend.” A separate image of a Doom bucket circulated shortly after, showcasing a bust with a silver mask, a square-patterned green tunic, and a cape.
Other merchandise has also focused on the same character. A first wave of Funko Pops introduced a version known as Lord Doom, seemingly representing Earth-828’s Victor Von Doom. Fans have been debating the implications of this version for the storyline.
He used to be different.

The excitement surrounding these snack containers reflects the film’s immense popularity. ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ is set to hit theaters on December 18 and has already made history by becoming the earliest film to surpass $50 million in domestic ticket presales three months prior to its release. Its trailer is also reported to be Disney’s most-viewed ever.
Fan reactions to the bucket have been enthusiastic and humorous. Many commenters joked that scooping popcorn out of Doctor Doom’s head is the only way they could defeat him, while others expressed a strong desire to get their hands on the bucket immediately. Numerous fans also noted the irony of a villain who seeks to dominate everything now ruling the concession stand.
Regardless of whether these items turn out to be real, the demand is evidently there. If Cinemark or Marvel confirms them, expect long lines and high resale prices. Either way, Doom is clearly asserting his dominance at the theater well before the movie’s release.
