‘Avengers: Endgame Encore’ Re-Release Set for September 25 With New Footage
Disney is gearing up to bring fans back to one of Marvel’s most iconic moments with a special theatrical return of Avengers: Endgame, now enhanced with exciting new features.
The re-release, officially titled Avengers: Endgame Encore, will showcase Disney’s innovative premium screening format called Infinity Vision, designed to highlight the best cinema experiences worldwide.
During CineEurope, it was revealed that Disney’s Infinity Vision program has already attracted over 7,500 applications from theaters eager to obtain certification. The studio is currently evaluating these venues ahead of the Avengers: Endgame Encore release on September 25.
Infinity Vision aims to guide audiences toward high-quality movie experiences that go beyond traditional premium formats like IMAX, Dolby Cinema, and 4DX. While these formats will continue to have their own marketing efforts, Disney intends for Infinity Vision to assist moviegoers in finding large screens, superior sound systems, and upgraded theater technology.
The concept was first introduced at CinemaCon, where Disney began discussions with theater owners. Now, Disney executives are sharing more details with cinema chains globally, including during their presentation at CineEurope in Barcelona.
One of the key announcements is that Avengers: Endgame Encore will not just be a standard re-showing. Disney has confirmed that this special release will include a custom introduction, additional new footage, and a unique end tag that will only be available in Infinity Vision and IMAX screenings.
To qualify for the Infinity Vision designation, theaters must meet several technical criteria. Screens need to be at least 45 feet wide, equipped with immersive audio systems like Dolby Atmos or 7.1 sound, and achieve specific brightness standards for both 2D and 3D presentations.

Disney’s initiative has garnered support from major theater executives. Cinemark CEO Sean Gamble commended the idea, stating, “As interest in enhanced theater amenities continues to grow, there is a meaningful opportunity for our collective industry to simplify how we communicate and promote the range of premium large format (PLF) experiences that are available to consumers.”
Gamble further noted that Cinemark backs Disney’s efforts to establish clearer standards for premium movie experiences, aiming for a more recognizable system for audiences.
Regal Cineworld Group CEO Eduardo Acuna also welcomed the announcement, expressing, “It’s been a long time coming, and we love that Disney is taking the lead in pointing moviegoers to the best theaters out there.” He emphasized that having one recognizable brand could help fans ensure they are getting a high-quality experience before entering the theater.
Cinema United president Michael O’Leary also praised Disney’s initiatives, stating, “We compliment Disney’s leadership in promoting the great myriad of theatrical experiences available to movie fans today.”
In addition to promoting Avengers: Endgame Encore, Disney also showcased previews of several upcoming projects during its CineEurope presentation. The studio unveiled footage from films such as Avengers: Doomsday, Gatto, Hexed, Ice Age: Boiling Point, Moana, Star Wars: Starfighter, The Dog Stars, and Whalefall.
With Avengers: Doomsday set to hit theaters on December 18, Disney appears committed to making premium theatrical experiences a significant aspect of its future releases. The launch of Infinity Vision could serve as another strategy for studios and theaters to entice audiences back for larger and more immersive movie events.
