Casting announcements for Netflix’s live-action ‘One Piece’ have turned into events of their own, with each new addition attracting significant attention from a fanbase eager to see how faithfully the series adapts its cherished source material. This excitement has only intensified as the show delves deeper into one of the manga’s most iconic arcs.

Netflix’s live-action adaptation has been steadily expanding its cast for Season 3, which will bring the Straw Hat Pirates into the Alabasta arc, featuring a wide array of Baroque Works agents. Among the latest cast members is Awdo Awdo, who will portray one of the arc’s most formidable villains.

Awdo recently shared a personal video filmed on set, where he introduces himself and his character to fans ahead of the season’s eventual release. In the clip, he reveals that he will be playing Daz Bones, also known by his Baroque Works codename Mr. 1, making him one of the more physically imposing characters in the show’s expanding roster of adversaries.

In the source material, Mr. 1 is the highest-ranked male officer agent within Baroque Works, the secretive organization led by Sir Crocodile, which aims to destabilize the desert kingdom of Alabasta. He is a skilled hand-to-hand combatant with the Dice-Dice Fruit ability, allowing him to transform any part of his body into razor-sharp steel blades, making him one of the most visually striking fighters the Straw Hats face during the arc.

Awdo joins the cast alongside fellow newcomer Daisy Head, recognized for her roles in ‘Shadow and Bone’ and ‘Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves,’ who has been cast as Miss Doublefinger, Mr. 1’s partner and the second-highest-ranking female officer in Baroque Works. Together, they serve as key enforcers under Joe Manganiello’s Mr. 0, or Sir Crocodile, intensifying the season’s central conflict as the Straw Hats become embroiled in Alabasta’s political struggles.

Mr. 1 and Miss Doublefinger are part of a rapidly growing list of Baroque Works characters confirmed for the season, including Cole Escola as the flamboyant Mr. 2, also known as Bon Clay. Returning cast members from Season 2, including Mikaela Hoover, Joe Manganiello, Lera Abova, and Sendhil Ramamurthy, have all been promoted to series regulars for the third installment, highlighting the significance of this arc’s antagonists to the overall narrative.

The core Straw Hat crew remains unchanged as they head into Season 3, with Iñaki Godoy, Mackenyu, Emily Rudd, Jacob Romero, and Taz Skylar all reprising their roles as Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Usopp, and Sanji, respectively. Charithra Chandran also returns as Princess Vivi, whose homeland serves as the backdrop for the season’s main conflict against Crocodile and his agents.

According to Netflix, production for Season 3 has officially concluded after filming in Cape Town, South Africa. The Straw Hats cast recently gathered to share a special dispatch video from the set to commemorate the occasion. This milestone puts the series firmly on track for its eventual release, although specific plot details for the season remain largely undisclosed.

With Baroque Works agents like Mr. 1 stepping into the spotlight, Season 3 seems set to offer one of the live-action adaptation’s most action-packed and antagonist-driven chapters yet. Fans eager to see how Awdo brings Daz Bones’ blade-wielding combat style to life will find out once the season officially premieres.
