In recent years, Formula 1 has attracted a plethora of A-list celebrities, and this week’s Abu Dhabi Grand Prix was no different. Ana de Armas was seen enjoying the thrilling race from a trackside suite, surrounded by a blend of drivers, team principals, and other famous faces that the sport has increasingly drawn to its events.

This appearance comes as de Armas is building an impressive lineup of upcoming projects in Hollywood, showcasing her versatility across various genres and formats. With several feature films and television projects in different stages of production, the Cuban-born actress shows no signs of slowing down after her recent successes in ‘Ballerina’ and ‘Eden.’

On the film front, de Armas is set to star alongside Cameron Diaz and Benicio del Toro in ‘Reenactment,’ a thriller directed by Grant Singer that is currently in post-production. While plot details remain under wraps, this project follows Singer’s successful 2023 Netflix film ‘Reptile,’ and the collaboration with Diaz, who is also preparing for ‘Shrek 5,’ has already sparked considerable excitement.

Additionally, she is attached to ‘Deeper,’ a sci-fi horror film directed by Doug Liman that reunites her with Tom Cruise. Written by Christopher McQuarrie and the late Max Landis, the film follows a disgraced former astronaut piloting a one-man submarine into the ocean’s deepest trench, livestreaming the descent while facing unexpected challenges. Another project, ‘Sweat,’ will feature de Armas as a fitness influencer whose life spirals out of control after a troubling encounter with a social media idol, leading her into a dangerous situation with an obsessive fan. Directed by J Blakeson, this thriller is still in the pre-production phase.

Beyond films, de Armas is also working on two significant television projects for Apple TV+. The first, ‘Bananas,’ is a drama directed by David O. Russell and co-starring Oscar Isaac, created by Carolina Paiz. The title reportedly refers to “banana republics,” a term historically used to describe politically unstable nations, particularly in Central America, although the complete plot details are yet to be disclosed.

The second project is ‘Safe Houses,’ an eight-episode drama series featuring Jennifer Connelly, based on Dan Fesperman’s novel of the same name and led by showrunner Gideon Raff. Set against the backdrop of a major geopolitical event, this series gives de Armas another chance to lead a prestigious limited series, further enhancing her growing presence in television alongside her film endeavors.

Overall, this slate highlights how strategically de Armas has diversified her career in recent years, seamlessly transitioning between blockbuster action, character-driven dramas, and thrilling genres. Her recent achievements reflect this range: she received a historic Academy Award nomination for Best Actress for her role as Marilyn Monroe in ‘Blonde,’ becoming the first Cuban actress nominated in this category, while also making her mark in the action genre with her standout performance as Paloma in ‘No Time to Die’ and her recent lead role in the ‘John Wick’ spinoff ‘Ballerina.’

With ‘Reenactment’ in post-production, ‘Deeper’ and ‘Sweat’ progressing through development, and two Apple TV+ series on the horizon, de Armas is set for a particularly busy period as she heads into 2026 and 2027. Whether she’s enjoying the excitement of a Grand Prix from a trackside suite or sharing the screen with stars like Cruise, Diaz, and del Toro, her upcoming schedule is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious of her career.
