Catherine Zeta-Jones has been reinventing her television presence in recent years, notably captivating audiences as Morticia Addams on Netflix’s ‘Wednesday.’ Now, she is set to swap the gothic ambiance of the Addams family for a far more explosive role in her latest project.

This project has been in the works since its announcement in February 2025, when Zeta-Jones signed on to star in and executive produce a revenge thriller that promises to be unlike anything she has done before. After completing production and revealing a first-look image last fall, fans have eagerly awaited the series’ release date.

That wait is finally over. ‘Kill Jackie’ has officially set its premiere date, with all eight episodes debuting on October 2 on Prime Video in the U.K., Ireland, Netherlands, Turkey, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, and Canada, as reported by Variety.

The series will also launch on the same day in the United States on AMC+, following AMC Global Media’s acquisition of the domestic rights earlier this summer. Based on Nick Harkaway’s acclaimed novel “The Price You Pay,” written under his pseudonym Aidan Truhen, the show features Zeta-Jones as Jackie Price, a former international drug smuggler turned art dealer who has spent two decades cultivating a quiet, luxurious life while remaining carefully anonymous.

However, that carefully maintained anonymity shatters when Jackie learns that The Seven Demons, a group of the world’s most feared hitmen, have been contracted to kill her. Believing someone from her past is behind the hit, Jackie embarks on a perilous mission to eliminate the assassins one by one before they can complete their task.

As the series unfolds, the revenge plot is expected to deepen with personal stakes. According to the official synopsis, Jackie ultimately discovers that her own buried secrets may be far more perilous than the killers pursuing her, bringing the story closer to home with what is hinted to be surprising consequences.

Zeta-Jones expressed her enthusiasm for the project upon its announcement, viewing the role as a chance to delve into complex, female-driven storytelling. “I’m thrilled to be a part of Kill Jackie (w/t) both behind and in front of the camera. The opportunity to bring this multifaceted character to life, and explore a female-driven plot that encompasses empowerment, identity, and redemption is something I’m looking forward to,” Zeta-Jones stated.

Joining Zeta-Jones is a talented supporting cast that includes Daniel Ings, Sidse Babett Knudsen, Bill Paterson, Ron Perlman, Óscar Jaenada, Hattie Hook, Darci Shaw, Raff Law, Enzo Cilenti, Christine Adams, Julian Rhind-Tutt, and Jonathan Cake, among others. The series is co-produced by Fremantle and Steel Springs Pictures, and co-created by “Gangs of London” writers Conor Keane and Tom Butterworth, alongside Peter Lawson and Damon Thomas, known for his work on “Killing Eve.”

This impressive creative team aligns closely with the show’s genre aspirations, blending the stylish criminal underworld tone of “Gangs of London” with the sharp, character-driven tension that made “Killing Eve” a hit. Harkaway himself is serving as a consultant on the adaptation, ensuring a direct connection to the source material’s original voice.

With a confirmed release date and a stacked supporting cast, Zeta-Jones seems ready to deliver one of the standout performances of her recent career. Given the premise’s focus on both action and personal reckoning, ‘Kill Jackie’ is poised to make a mark in the increasingly crowded landscape of prestige revenge thrillers.
