It turns out that even celebrities have to teach their parents how to navigate streaming services! Actor Charlie Cox, known for playing Daredevil, recently shared a funny story about helping his parents find his new series, ‘Daredevil: Born Again,’ on Disney+.

During a break from filming the second season of the Marvel show, Cox appeared on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ where he recounted the mishap.

Setting up Disney+ for his parents took about five hours, but eventually, they were ready to watch. To his surprise, their reaction after seeing the show was rather confusing.

They said, ‘Yeah no, yeah, good! Very good. Quite similar to the original show from–’ and I went, ‘What? How?'” Cox shared on the show. His parents then mentioned something about the backstory involving his character’s dad.

That’s when Cox realized they hadn’t watched the new series at all, they had turned on the original Daredevil series from Netflix, which had recently moved to Disney+ ahead of ‘Born Again’s’ release.

After he guided them to the right show, Cox thought the problem was solved. But about 20 minutes later, he got another call from his parents, even more confused than before.

20 minutes later they call me back and go, ‘This can’t be right!'” Cox said, laughing. “I was like, ‘What?’ and he goes, ‘Doesn’t even look like you!’ I’m like, ‘Right, that is Ben Affleck.'”

It turns out they had somehow started watching the 2003 ‘Daredevil’ movie starring Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner. Cox had to explain that it was the older film version, not his new series.

Thankfully, Cox finally managed to get his parents on the right track, and they eventually watched ‘Born Again’ as intended. In the end, they were “very pleased” with the show.

The story brought plenty of laughs on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ and reminded fans that even actors have to deal with their parents’ streaming confusion. As Cox put it, setting up Disney+ for them was a bit of an adventure on its own!
