Crunchyroll and Sony Secure International Rights for ‘Jujutsu Kaisen: Hidden Inventory / Premature Death,’ No Updates on Season 3

Jujutsu Kaisen has been one of the most beloved anime in recent years. And while the manga’s ending was received by the fans with a lot of disdain, the anime’s popularity hasn’t dropped as a result of that.
You probably know that the Season 2 compilation movie, Jujutsu Kaisen: Hidden Inventory / Premature Death, which focuses on Gojo’s and Geto’s younger years, was recently released in Japan to a lot of hype.
In light of that fact, we are happy to confirm that Sony and Crunchyroll have acquired the international distribution rights for the movie, and are going to show in select theaters this summer!
The anime’s second season was received with critical acclaim, both for its animation and for its handling of the story and the characters. Of course, the compilation film wasn’t anything new, but it was a good reminder as to why the flashback arc was one of the best in the whole series.
After earning $1.3 million in its opening weekend in Japan, the movie will get an international release as well, which is sure to boost its financial results by the time it leaves theaters.
So, Sony and Crunchyroll have confirmed that they have acquired the international distribution rights for the movie and will air it in select countries this summer, starting on July 16, 2025. Aside from North America, the movie will see a limited release in Europe, Latin America, and Australia as well.
Sadly, there are no additional updates on Season 3 of the anime. We know that the season is getting made, but none of the involved parties have provided us with any information.
The series is probably being worked on right now, but with no announcement in sight, we don’t think that we’ll see it before 2026, if it happens even then.
