Peacock has officially announced the release dates for two of its most anticipated fall series, the ‘Friday the 13th’ prequel Crystal Lake and the psychological thriller The Good Daughter, during the NBC upfronts.

The horror prequel Crystal Lake is set to premiere on October 15 on Peacock. This series delves into the early life of Pamela Voorhees, who becomes the iconic antagonist of the ‘Friday the 13th’ franchise, long before the events of the original films. Linda Cardellini stars as Pamela Voorhees, offering a fresh perspective on this legendary character. William Catlett also features as Levon Brooks, though details about his role remain under wraps.

The show aims to enrich the ‘Friday the 13th’ universe by emphasizing character backstory rather than solely focusing on slasher elements. It provides insight into the experiences that shaped Pamela Voorhees before the horrific events that made the franchise a household name.

Peacock also confirmed that The Good Daughter will debut later in the fall, arriving on November 12. Based on the novel by Karin Slaughter, this series follows two sisters who must confront a traumatic event from their past when a new violent incident brings old secrets to light.

The cast includes Rose Byrne, Meghann Fahy, Brendan Gleeson, and Harper Steele. The narrative explores themes of family tension, memory, and the lasting impact of past trauma, described as a psychological crime drama with deep emotional resonance.

In addition to these two series, Peacock shared updates on several other upcoming shows. The The Office spin-off The Paper is set to return for its second season in September, continuing the story in the same universe as The Office and focusing on a struggling Midwestern newspaper. Oscar Nuñez reprises his role as Oscar Martinez, connecting the new series to its predecessor. The cast also features Domhnall Gleeson, Chelsea Frei, Sabrina Impacciatore, and Alex Edelman.

Amy Poehler’s new comedy Dig is also slated for a November release. Created with Michael Schur, the series follows a group of archaeologists in Greece who stumble upon a discovery that entangles them in a global conspiracy.

Peacock also mentioned Ted: The Animated Series, which is listed as “coming soon,” although no specific release date has been announced yet.

These announcements were part of NBC’s upfront presentation, showcasing the network’s upcoming slate of shows across streaming and television. The event also included updates on other programming plans across NBC, Bravo, and major live sports content.

With a diverse lineup of horror, drama, comedy, and franchise expansions, Peacock’s fall season is shaping up to be one of its busiest yet.
