Daisy Edgar-Jones’s promotional tour for ‘Sense and Sensibility’ has been closely followed by fans and fashion enthusiasts alike. As the film releases in the UK and prepares for its US debut on Oct. 16, her wardrobe choices continue to captivate audiences.

The tour commenced with a nostalgic touch, featuring Edgar-Jones in a McQueen empire-waist mini dress crafted from pintucked floral silk jacquard, subtly referencing the Georgian era of Jane Austen’s narrative. Stylist Dani Michelle collaborated with the actress to present two stunning Vivienne Westwood outfits, establishing a period-inspired aesthetic early on.

In her latest appearance, Edgar-Jones opted for a lighter, contemporary vibe. New images showcase her in a cream top featuring an embroidered waist panel that elegantly drapes over her trousers. The outfit includes a ruffled top with a frilled trim at the waist, paired with crisp white trousers, blending delicate period-inspired details with modern flair.

The tour has spanned multiple cities, including London, Berlin, and Dublin. Recently, Edgar-Jones attended a photocall at Wendy’s Secret Garden in Sydney, donning an ivory Alaïa Fall 2026 dress. Fashion critics have noted that her recent looks reflect a more personal style after the initial period references.

This evolution is evident in her choices. On Sept. 25, she wore a beige Chloé ensemble featuring a lace-trimmed camisole top paired with a draped midi skirt reminiscent of a Regency ballgown, a fitting homage to her character, Elinor Dashwood. Following that, she donned a lilac Chloé dress with voluminous sleeves and ruffles, and later sported an ivory McQueen military jacket while leaving a BBC Radio station in London.

The film itself is generating buzz, directed by Georgia Oakley, known for ‘Blue Jean’, and based on a screenplay by Diana Reid, with Focus Features and Working Title producing. It premiered at London’s Leicester Square on Sept. 15, hit UK theaters on Sept. 25, and is set to arrive in the US on Oct. 16.

In ‘Sense and Sensibility’, Edgar-Jones portrays Elinor Dashwood, a role famously played by Emma Thompson in the 1995 adaptation. The cast also includes Esmé Creed-Miles as her sister Marianne, George MacKay as Edward Ferrars, Caitríona Balfe as Mrs. Dashwood, Frank Dillane as John Willoughby, Herbert Nordrum as Colonel Brandon, Bodhi Rae Breathnach as Margaret, and Fiona Shaw as Mrs. Jennings.

Focus Features released a second trailer on Sept. 30, highlighting the developing romance between Elinor and Edward, depicted dancing at a ball. Deadline’s review described the film as a sharp social satire rather than a typical rom-com, praising Oakley’s rebellious spirit. Focus and Working Title previously collaborated on the acclaimed 2005 ‘Pride & Prejudice’ and the 2020 ‘Emma’, adding to the film’s pedigree.

With the US release approaching, Edgar-Jones likely has more stunning outfits to unveil. If her latest cream-and-white ensemble is any indication, the upcoming looks will continue to blend romance with a modern twist. Her connection to McQueen is also notable, as she wore a custom corset gown adorned with heritage lace from the brand to the 2026 Met Gala.

This press tour is more than just a series of outfits; each look contributes to a narrative that parallels the film’s exploration of tradition and contemporary perspectives. For a story centered on contrasting temperaments, the fashion has showcased a remarkable variety, ranging from structured jackets to soft ruffles.

As the tour progresses, the cream embroidered outfit marks the latest highlight in a journey that shows no signs of slowing down. Whether the next appearance will feature another period-inspired look or a sharper modern twist remains to be seen.
