The search for the DCU’s Wonder Woman has taken an intriguing twist. A report from Fortress of DC, further discussed by CoveredGeekly, suggests that Argentinian actress Eva De Dominici is now in the running for the iconic role of Diana Prince. This news has ignited fan discussions just as many were beginning to accept that another actress had already secured the part.

De Dominici, recognized for her performance in ‘The Cleaning Lady’, was previously rumored to be in talks for the role of Maxima in James Gunn’s ‘Man of Tomorrow’. She tested for the role alongside Adria Arjona, Sydney Chandler from ‘Alien: Earth’, and Grace Van Patten from ‘Tell Me Lies’. The latest rumor indicates that her involvement with the DCU could extend beyond a supporting villain role, with sources hinting at Wonder Woman as her true destination.

Adding fuel to the speculation, De Dominici posted a training video on Instagram featuring emojis of a woman with crossed arms and crossed swords, which fans quickly interpreted as a subtle reference to Diana of Themyscira. Whether this was a genuine hint or simply an actress engaging with the buzz around her name, the post certainly stirred the rumor mill.

Complicating matters is the fact that Adria Arjona has been officially confirmed to join the DCU in ‘Man of Tomorrow’, where she will portray Maxima, a powerful alien queen who serves as both an antagonist and potential love interest for Superman in the comics. Fans have rallied behind Arjona as their top choice for Wonder Woman, and James Gunn himself remarked last year that he believed she would be a fantastic fit for the role, which has only intensified speculation that the Maxima casting might be a clever misdirection.

Insider Jeff Sneider noted on The Hot Mic podcast that the original list of actresses who tested seemed more aligned with a Wonder Woman casting than a Maxima one. He suggested that Gunn has a history of having actors audition for one role only to cast them in another. Additionally, a prequel HBO Max series titled ‘Paradise Lost’, focusing on the Amazons of Themyscira, is part of Gunn’s early DCU plans, alongside a standalone Wonder Woman film currently in development with screenwriter Ana Nogueira working on the script.

DC Studios has not commented on the specifics of Arjona’s casting, and Warner Bros. did not address it during its CinemaCon presentation, leaving fans to speculate based on workout videos and emoji interpretations.

This silence may be the most revealing detail of all. With ‘Man of Tomorrow’ currently filming in Atlanta and scheduled for release in July 2027, the mystery surrounding the DCU’s Wonder Woman casting remains one of the most closely monitored puzzles in superhero cinema, with both De Dominici and Arjona still in contention.
