Deborah Ann Woll Discusses Karen Page’s Fate After ‘Daredevil: Born Again’
Few supporting characters in the Marvel universe have traveled a longer path than Karen Page. She first appeared in Netflix’s original ‘Daredevil‘ in 2015, navigating the gritty battles of Hell’s Kitchen and returning to the narrative when the series was revived on Disney+. Now, fans are eager to learn about her fate as the conclusion approaches, and insights into Karen Page’s ending are starting to emerge.
The announcement that ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ will wrap up with its third season came on September 21. The final season has already been filmed and is set to premiere on Disney+ in 2027. Showrunner Dario Scardapane has departed the series as it nears completion. Deborah Ann Woll expressed her gratitude at the time, encouraging fans to enjoy the last season and noting the cast’s hard work.
Woll has since provided more details about Karen’s future. In an interview with Collider’s Maggie Lovitt, while promoting her new thriller ‘The Cycle’, she was asked how longtime fans might react to Karen’s conclusion. Woll shared with Collider that she hopes viewers will see Karen as someone who is “just gonna go stop another Kingpin” when the screen fades to black.
Woll expressed her desire for the finale to provide a logical resolution to Karen’s journey, one that contemplates the essence of heroism. She also raised the question of whether someone can be their own hero on some level. In her view, the conclusion should feel like the start of a new chapter rather than a definitive end.
While Woll kept the specifics of Karen’s ending a secret, she hinted that it suggests Karen will depart on her own terms. After 12 years with the character, Woll believes that such an open-ended farewell feels appropriate.
The final season begins with the heroes in a challenging position. ‘Born Again’ season 2 concluded with Matt Murdock imprisoned after publicly revealing his identity as Daredevil, while Wilson Fisk has lost his role as mayor of New York City. Season 3 will delve into the aftermath of this revelation and, according to comments from the showrunner before his exit, will draw inspiration from the ‘The Devil in Cell-Block D’ comic storyline.
Karen has been deeply affected by these events. In season 2, she was detained, and Fisk visited her in her cell prior to her trial. This marked a significant shift for a character who spent much of season 1 on the sidelines. Woll appeared in only three episodes of the first season, but her expanded role in season 2 helped fans reconnect with her.

Season 3 brings back a formidable cast. Charlie Cox reprises his role as Matt Murdock, Vincent D’Onofrio returns as Fisk, and Woll is back as Karen, with Wilson Bethel, Margarita Levieva, and Elden Henson’s legacies still felt. The season also welcomes back Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones, Mike Colter’s Luke Cage, Finn Jones’ Danny Rand, and Élodie Yung’s Elektra, reuniting the Defenders.
This is a significant payoff for a series that has established its identity through character-driven storytelling. With so many familiar faces returning, Karen’s role in the ensemble becomes even more crucial. Woll’s remarks suggest that her storyline will serve as one of the emotional anchors of the finale.
Woll has also discussed life beyond the show. In another interview, she mentioned that the series’ conclusion did not catch her off guard, and she envisions Karen continuing to fight against injustice. Whether Marvel decides to bring the character back is beyond her control, and she has not been assured of another appearance.
This blend of hope and realism aligns with the character. Karen has always been determined and assertive in the best way, and Woll has long stated that this determination is her favorite aspect to portray. Her suggestion that Karen’s journey could extend beyond the screen leaves the possibility open without making any promises.
The final trailer for ‘DAREDEVIL BORN AGAIN’ has been released.
Premiering March 4 on Disney+ https://t.co/aFxVNAa4N4— DiscussingFilm (@DiscussingFilm) March 3, 2025
For a series that began as a reboot and evolved into a three-season narrative, providing Karen with a hopeful exit feels fitting. Rather than a tragic farewell, Woll’s vision portrays a character embarking on a new adventure. Fans who have followed her since the Netflix era can anticipate a goodbye that honors her development.
With season 3 slated for 2027, there’s still time to speculate about how everything will unfold. Whatever Marvel has in store, Woll’s comments indicate that Karen’s fight is far from over.
