Director Julius Onah Reveals the Red Hulk Almost Had a Gun in ‘Brave New World’
Captain America: Brave New World premiered back in February and was a solid outing for Marvel. The movie received mostly positive reviews, and while it wasn’t a record-breaking box office outing, it earned a solid amount of money.
Marvel is, as you probably know, betting on other movies this year, but Captain America: Brave New World was an important narrative moment that simply cannot be ignored. And that explains why people are still talking about the movie.
In a recent interview, director Julius Onah revealed an interesting moment that almost made it into the movie.
Before we continue, here is the interview in question:
The interview isn’t long, so if you have the time, we’d definitely advise you to watch the whole thing, as there are some very interesting moments there. Of course, the focus is on the revelation we teased above, and if you’re unable to watch the video, here is what happened.
Namely, at one point during the interview, Onah reveals that the Red Hulk, played by Harrison Ford, almost had a gun in the movie. “There was a point in time, actually, it didn’t make the movie, where Red Hulk, arcing back to publishing, wielded a gun, and it just didn’t feel quite right for the actual movie,” Onah says.
As you know, the Red Hulk wielding a gun is nothing new, and there are numerous comic book stories in which the Red Hulk used weapons.
Of course, this might not have sat very well with MCU fans, and such a moment wasn’t really in line with the MCU’s policies, so we can understand that it was removed. Still, the prospect… sounds intriguing, right?
