Sam Wilson’s Secret Avengers: Captain America Reportedly Assembled His Avengers Off-Screen in the MCU

A lot has changed in the MCU over the past few months. With the release of Captain America: Brave New World, Sam Wilson has been on a mission to recruit a new team of Avengers, recognizing that threats to New York—and the world—are far from over.
Then came the release of Thunderbolts*, where we saw Valentina Allegra de Fontaine assembling her own version of the “Avengers.” Sam Wilson was not happy about it.
In fact, a humorous post-credit scene subtly addressed this tension. Without giving away any spoilers, let’s just say that Wilson is well aware that his Avengers aren’t the only team in town.
Many fans have been expecting the Avengers to officially assemble in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday movie, with Sam Wilson leading the charge. However, it seems that might not be the case after all.
According to Alex Perez of Cosmic Circus, a trusted insider, there won’t be a dedicated project where all the Avengers come together. Instead, it’s reported that Sam Wilson will be recruiting his team off-screen.
Perez has since deleted his original post, but we managed to catch the information through other accounts. In his post, Perez also shared insights into how Sam Wilson views Valentina’s New Avengers.
According to Perez, Sam Wilson believes he should be the one leading the Avengers. He thinks this because he was given the mission first and has already put a team together.
He doesn’t agree with the idea that the “New Avengers” should include people who used to be mercenaries, killers, or, as he puts it, unstable weapons of mass destruction. In his view, the Avengers should stand for something better.
This pretty much checks out with my own personal idea on how Wilson would react, as Captain America has pretty high principles and standards when it comes to dealing with crisis, and Thunderbolts well…do not.
