Emilia Clarke Reveals Which ‘Game of Thrones’ Co-Stars She Remains Close To

Emilia Clarke is reflecting on her time in Game of Thrones as the iconic series marks 15 years since its premiere in 2011. In a recent interview with Access Hollywood at the launch of her new series Ponies, the actress discussed the enduring friendships she has maintained from the HBO show.

Clarke rose to fame portraying Daenerys Targaryen, known as the Mother of Dragons, throughout all eight seasons of Game of Thrones. Her character evolved from an exiled princess to one of the most formidable figures in Westeros before the series concluded in 2019.

During the interview, Access Hollywood highlighted her recent reunion with actor Iain Glen at Liverpool Comic Con and inquired if she stays connected with other cast members from the series.

Clarke revealed that she is particularly close with Kit Harington and Rose Leslie, stating, “I regularly do reunions with Kit and Rose.” She added, “They’re my genuine friends.”

Kit Harington famously portrayed Jon Snow, while Rose Leslie played Ygritte. On-screen, Jon and Ygritte shared one of the series’ most beloved romances in the earlier seasons. Their relationship blossomed while Jon was undercover among the Wildlings north of the Wall, and their chemistry became a significant emotional highlight of the story. The actors later married in real life in 2018 and now have two children together.

Clarke’s character Daenerys later became romantically involved with Jon Snow in the final seasons of the series. Their relationship grew complicated when it was revealed that Jon was actually Aegon Targaryen, making him Daenerys’ nephew. This twist became a pivotal storyline leading into the controversial final season.

Clarke also expressed her fondness for Iain Glen, who portrayed Ser Jorah Mormont in the series. Jorah was Daenerys’ most loyal protector and advisor for much of the show, and his unwavering devotion to her was a central aspect of his character arc. Many fans viewed him as one of the few individuals Daenerys truly trusted throughout her journey. Clarke remarked, “And I see Iain as much as I can. I love him.”
