Episode 7 of Euphoria Season 3, titled “Rain or Shine,” has reached the highest rating of the season on IMDb, according to user ratings. Currently, the episode boasts a rating of 8.1, surpassing all other episodes in Season 3.

Despite being the standout episode, the overall rating trend for Season 3 is lower than previous seasons. Season 3 averages around 6.9, while Season 2 holds a much higher average of 8.6 and Season 1 at 8.2, based on IMDb ratings.

The episode is packed with intense storylines and significant character developments. It continues to follow Rue Bennett, portrayed by Zendaya, who finds herself in perilous situations once again by the episode’s end. This season has seen her navigate numerous close calls, and this episode thrusts her into another life-threatening scenario involving cartel activity.

Meanwhile, other characters are drawn deeper into violence and emotional turmoil. Faye, played by Chloe Cherry, becomes pivotal in the episode when she turns on Rue during a tense moment, revealing the chaos unfolding around them. This incident triggers a series of events that spiral out of control.

One of the most shocking moments involves Nate Jacobs, played by Jacob Elordi. Once characterized by his aggressive demeanor, Nate is now depicted in a vulnerable state, trapped due to a debt to loan sharks. In a gripping scene, he is buried in a shallow grave with only a small air vent, while Cassie, portrayed by Sydney Sweeney, races against time to save him.

Cassie’s efforts to rescue Nate lead her to confront dangerous individuals and make tough decisions. She reaches out to Maddy, played by Alexa Demie, who connects her with Alamo, portrayed by Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje. This chain of events culminates in violence at the drop site, including a fatal shooting that escalates the standoff. Even when Cassie reaches Nate, a rattlesnake bite through the vent seals his fate, rendering her rescue attempt futile.

The episode also delves into Cassie’s unstable circumstances outside the main conflict. After losing her job on “L.A. Nights,” she seeks to rebuild her image and finances. This leads her to a risky plan involving Dylan Reed, played by Homer Gere, where she manipulates a situation to enhance her online presence, showcasing her desperation to regain control of her life.

Another significant aspect of the episode includes a flashback centered on Ali, played by Colman Domingo. This scene, narrated from Rue’s perspective, reveals Ali’s struggles with addiction and his journey to sobriety. It deepens his role as Rue’s mentor and support system, especially as Rue begins to show signs of a spiritual awakening.

Rue herself becomes increasingly unpredictable in this episode. She believes she has received a divine message following a series of intense experiences, including surviving danger and interpreting symbolic signs. She expresses to Ali, “I heard your cries, I feel your pain; have faith and I will take you from Egypt and I will lead you to the Promised Land.” Her behavior escalates as she becomes embroiled in dangerous double-crossing between rival criminal factions.

As the episode concludes, Rue finds herself in grave danger once again after a betrayal is revealed during a cartel-related scheme. The situation intensifies rapidly, leaving her fate uncertain as the season finale approaches.

The Season 3 finale of Euphoria is set to air this Sunday, with high expectations following the dramatic events of “Rain or Shine.”
