A recent report has surfaced detailing alleged text messages related to the ongoing custody battle between Steve Burton and his ex-wife Sheree Burton, drawing more public scrutiny to their legal issues.

According to messages released by TMZ, the dispute revolves around custody arrangements for their 11-year-old daughter, Brooklyn. The reported exchange is said to have occurred earlier this year as they discussed summer plans and where their daughter would spend her time.

In the alleged conversation, Burton reportedly expressed concerns about a California summer activity program, arguing that it conflicted with scheduled family time. One of the messages purportedly included the actor accusing his ex-wife of “manipulation” while asserting that agreements regarding custody had already been established.

The texts suggest rising tensions over Burton’s relocation between California and Tennessee, which has reportedly become a significant point of contention in the custody discussions. Burton allegedly emphasized that family time should take precedence over extracurricular activities, claiming that the situation unfairly cast him in a negative light in front of their daughter.

Amador reportedly responded by defending her stance, stating that their daughter’s life and activities are based in California. Allegedly, she told Burton that their daughter should not have to forfeit opportunities simply because he preferred her to spend more time in Tennessee. She also reportedly urged him to enjoy their time together rather than prolonging the argument.

Another alleged message from Burton reportedly indicated that cooperation between them had been challenging for a long time, suggesting that ongoing court involvement was evidence of those difficulties.

The former couple separated in 2022 after Burton publicly announced their split. He revealed on social media that Amador was expecting a child that was not his. Despite the tumultuous breakup, both had previously stated their intention to co-parent their children amicably. Their divorce was finalized the following year.

Outside of the custody dispute, Burton recently made headlines after taking a brief hiatus from ‘General Hospital’ following his recent marriage. He mentioned wanting to spend more time with family during this temporary leave.

Custody battles becoming public rarely benefits anyone involved, especially the children. These situations are already emotionally charged behind closed doors, and the emergence of private messages online can complicate matters further.

At the same time, fans are naturally drawn to the story since Burton is a prominent television figure. Hopefully, both parties can eventually reach an arrangement that prioritizes their daughter’s well-being over ongoing public disputes. What are your thoughts on this situation? Should celebrity custody disputes remain private, or is public attention inevitable once legal proceedings begin? Share your opinions in the comments.
