I’ve got some exciting news for Marvel and monster fans alike. A new comic is diving into a massive showdown that pits two of the biggest powerhouses against each other. We’re talking about the Incredible Hulk and the King of the Monsters, Godzilla, clashing in a story that’s packed with action and chaos. This isn’t just any fight—it’s part of a special series where the Thunderbolts, a team known for taking down giant threats, are on a mission to stop the biggest monsters out there.

The Thunderbolts, led by General Ross, have already made a name for themselves in this comic world. They’ve tackled some of the most dangerous creatures, like the dragon Fin Fang Foom and the giant spider Kumonga. They even managed to trap Mothra, the winged wonder, despite her cries echoing through the battle.

General Ross doesn’t mess around—he’s got no patience for monsters, whether they’re radioactive lizards or gamma-powered giants like the Hulk. This team has been cleaning up the monster mess for years, and now they’re setting their sights on their toughest target yet.

What makes this story even more thrilling is the stakes. The Thunderbolts aren’t just trying to take down Godzilla—they’ve already dealt with the Hulk in the past, and now they’re using some wild tactics to bring these two titans together. A character named Dr. Demonicus, a scientist with a dark side, has a plan to use giant monsters like Kumonga to lure Godzilla out.

They’ve got an anti-kaiju taskforce and a massive machine called the Incinerator to help them. But things get messy when the Hulk gets involved, and the two monsters start tearing through everything in their path. The comic shows the Thunderbolts watching from a control room, hoping their plan works, but it’s clear this fight could destroy more than they bargained for.

This comic, titled ‘Godzilla vs. Hulk #1’, is the second in a series of six one-shot battles. It’s hitting shelves on April 16, 2025, so mark your calendars. The story takes place in San Antonio, where the Thunderbolts’ plan to use Mothra’s cries actually works, bringing Godzilla straight to the city. But with the Hulk in the mix, the battle turns into what the comic calls the most destructive fight ever. Planes are crashing, buildings are burning, and the Thunderbolts are left scrambling to contain the chaos.

I love how this comic mixes Marvel heroes with classic kaiju action. The Thunderbolts have been around in Marvel comics since 1997, first appearing in ‘The Incredible Hulk #449’. General Ross, also known as Red Hulk in other stories, is a military man obsessed with control, which makes him the perfect leader for this monster-hunting squad.

On the other side, Godzilla has been a pop culture icon since his first movie in 1954, often showing up in comics to battle heroes and villains alike. The Hulk, created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in 1962, is no stranger to big fights either—his raw strength makes him a match for just about anyone, or anything, including a giant lizard.

One of my favorite parts of the comic is seeing how the Thunderbolts’ plan backfires. They thought they could control these monsters, but the Hulk and Godzilla aren’t ones to play nice. There’s a moment where the team realizes Godzilla might be too much for them, even after all their success with other creatures. It’s a reminder of just how powerful these two are. If you’re into epic battles and monster mayhem, this comic is going to be a must-read. I can’t wait to see what the next four issues in this series bring.
