Steinfeld first joined Jimmy Fallon in 2017 and returned in 2019 to discuss her Apple TV+ series ‘Dickinson’. She performed from home in 2020 and last appeared on the show in April 2025 to promote ‘Sinners’. This history with Fallon likely contributed to her relaxed demeanor during this latest visit.

Steinfeld was on the show to promote ‘Hexed’, the upcoming Walt Disney Animation Studios film where she voices the lead character, Billie Doe. The film tells the story of an awkward teenage girl who discovers her unique traits might be magical powers. The voice cast also includes Rashida Jones, Jodie Foster, Walton Goggins, Tracey Ullman, and Stephen Fry, with the movie set to hit theaters on November 25.

Fallon congratulated Steinfeld on her marriage and the birth of her first child. She tied the knot with Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen in May 2025 in Santa Barbara, and they welcomed their daughter, Harper Haize Allen, in April 2026. ‘Hexed’ marks her first project since becoming a mother, filmed during and after her pregnancy.
