Hilary Duff’s return to music has been perfectly timed. After a decade away from the stage, she signed with Atlantic Records last year and released a series of new singles, starting with ‘Mature’. The song garnered over 5 million global streams in its first week.

This momentum led to a full album and an extensive tour. Her sixth studio album, luck… or something, marks her first collection of new music since 2015, debuting at No. 3 on the Billboard 200. The Lucky Me Tour that followed is her first global headline tour in nearly two decades.

A new image from the tour was shared on her birthday. Duff, born on September 28, 1987, turned 39 this week. In a recent photo by Michael Drummond, she beams against a dark green wall, dressed in a glossy blue top and light denim, with her long blonde hair cascading in loose waves.

Drummond has played a significant role in this chapter of Duff’s career. Billboard highlighted his contributions to the London wrap-up show, and JamBase featured his images in its report on the tour’s expansion. This birthday portrait feels like a natural extension of the tour’s visual identity.

The image is relaxed and authentic, featuring no heavy props or dramatic lighting—just a bright smile and a casual outfit. This aligns perfectly with the tour’s warm and nostalgic tone.

The journey of this tour began modestly. Duff held her first headline concert in over a decade at London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire, followed by a series of sold-out ‘Small Rooms, Big Nerves’ shows designed to reconnect with live performance.

She then hosted a sold-out residency at the Voltaire at The Venetian Resort in Las Vegas. The Lucky Me Tour officially kicked off on June 22 in West Palm Beach, Florida, and has since traveled across the U.S., the U.K., and beyond. La Roux has supported the 2026 shows, with Jade LeMac joining the North American dates.

The most significant news emerged last week. At her final U.K. show at London’s O2 Arena, during her second sold-out night, Duff closed with ‘What Dreams Are Made Of’. Butterfly-shaped confetti carried a message reading “2027 More Dates Loading,” and a countdown clock appeared on screen and on her website.

When the timer reached zero, she announced 32 new dates. The European leg begins on May 7 in Madrid and will include stops in Berlin, Paris, Amsterdam, and Copenhagen, concluding in Stockholm on May 22. Rebecca Black will support all European dates.

The expansion continues into Latin America in August, starting in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on August 10, with stops in São Paulo and Buenos Aires before wrapping in Santiago, Chile, on August 20. A new run of U.S. dates will commence on October 1 in Sunrise, Florida, and conclude on November 20 in Anaheim, California.

Dashboard Confessional will join as a special guest for at least one stop, at Cleveland’s Rocket Arena on October 13. This mix of pop-punk and pop nostalgia resonates with an audience that grew up with both genres.

Timing is crucial here. Citi and Verizon presales began on Monday, September 28, with an artist presale running today, September 29, at noon local time. General on-sale starts Friday, October 2, at 10 a.m. local time on Ticketmaster and StubHub.

Before those shows, there are still dates remaining this year. The tour will head to New Zealand and Australia in October, starting October 20 in Auckland, followed by Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth. It will then move through Canada in January before concluding in Mexico City on February 12.

The birthday image encapsulates a moment of genuine momentum. Duff is smiling at a time when her tour is expanding and her album is receiving positive reviews. Fans have shown tremendous enthusiasm, as evidenced by the sold-out shows.

For a star best known to many as Lizzie McGuire, this moment serves as a reminder of how far her comeback has come. A simple portrait, a big grin, and a growing tour schedule tell the story beautifully.
