‘How I Met Your Mother’ Actor Nick Pasqual Convicted of Attempted Murder
Nick Pasqual, an actor recognized for his roles in ‘How I Met Your Mother’ and the film ‘Rebel Moon’, has been found guilty of attempted murder along with several other charges related to a violent attack on his estranged girlfriend, makeup artist Allie Shehorn, in 2024.
The information has been sourced from court records and reports highlighted by Entertainment Weekly and other media outlets covering the trial.
A jury delivered a guilty verdict on all counts after a trial that commenced on April 27 and concluded this week. Despite pleading not guilty, Pasqual was found accountable for attempted murder, domestic violence-related assault charges, first-degree burglary, and additional counts associated with the case. He is set to be sentenced on June 2 in Los Angeles, where he could face a life sentence in state prison.
During the trial, Shehorn recounted the harrowing attack, stating that Pasqual forced his way into her home. “I locked the door and he just started punching holes in that door and broke that open, and I just ran into the bathroom because I thought there’s another lock on that door.” Her testimony was reported by ABC Eyewitness News 7.
Prosecutors revealed that the incident took place in May 2024 at Shehorn’s residence in Sunland, California. According to the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office, Pasqual allegedly stabbed her over 20 times before fleeing. Court documents indicated that he “personally used a knife during the commission of the crime” and inflicted “great bodily injury under circumstances involving domestic violence.”
Authorities stated that Shehorn had previously obtained a restraining order against Pasqual due to allegations of abuse. Reports also indicated that he had been arrested days prior to the stabbing on a domestic violence-related charge but was released on bond shortly thereafter. Prosecutors contended that the attack occurred only days later.
Shehorn was found by a family member and rushed to the hospital in critical condition, undergoing multiple surgeries and spending time in intensive care. Reports from KTLA noted that she sustained severe injuries to her neck, arms, and abdomen.
In addition to acting, Shehorn is a Hollywood makeup artist with credits including ‘Babylon’ and ‘Mean Girls’, as well as ‘Rebel Moon’. She has since returned to her work following her recovery.
Pasqual’s conviction concludes a trial that attracted attention due to the severity of the attack and his prior acting credits. The upcoming sentencing in June will determine the length of his prison term.
