Hulu’s 2026 TV lineup has experienced a blend of exciting renewals and disappointing cancellations, with several notable changes to its programming slate.

As reported by Hulu and various industry sources, the streaming service is making adjustments to its offerings as it progresses through 2026. While some shows are set to expand their narratives, others are concluding or being dropped altogether.

One of the standout renewals is ‘The Testaments’, which has officially been renewed for a second season. This renewal was confirmed on May 20, 2026. The series serves as a follow-up to ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ and is based on Margaret Atwood’s novel. It delves into life within Gilead, focusing on two young girls, Agnes and Daisy, as they navigate a strict environment shaped by Aunt Lydia’s school for future wives. Their bond becomes crucial as they start to question their surroundings and challenge the system they were raised in.

Another significant update comes from the series ‘Paradise’, which has been renewed for Season 3. This renewal was announced on March 17, 2026. Set in an exclusive community filled with influential figures, the show’s tranquility is shattered by a serious murder, leading to an investigation that uncovers hidden secrets.

However, not all news is positive. Hulu has confirmed the cancellation of a planned reboot of ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’. This announcement was made on March 14, 2026, by Sarah Michelle Gellar. The reboot had been in early development with writers Nora and Lila Zuckerman and director Chloé Zhao attached, aiming to continue the Buffy universe with a new narrative, but it will no longer proceed.

This cancellation follows years of interest in expanding the Buffy franchise, which originated from a 1992 film and evolved into a beloved television series starting in 1997. The reboot was anticipated to introduce a fresh chapter in that universe, but Hulu ultimately decided against moving forward with the project.

Additionally, Hulu confirmed that ‘Tell Me Lies’ has officially concluded. The third season aired from January to February 2026, with the finale marking the end of the series. All episodes are now available for streaming on the platform. The conclusion was announced shortly before the final episode aired, indicating that the story would not extend beyond season three.

On a more positive note, ‘Shoresy’, the spinoff of ‘Letterkenny’, has been renewed for Season 6. This renewal was announced on January 22, 2026. The series continues to follow Shoresy and the Bulldogs as they strive to maintain their place in competitive hockey, remaining a consistent performer in Hulu’s comedy lineup.

In summary, Hulu’s 2026 updates reflect a platform navigating both expansions and endings. Some shows are moving forward with new seasons, while others are concluding or being canceled, highlighting a shifting strategy in its original programming.
