Iman Vellani Hints at Secret MCU Set Visit for ‘Daredevil Born Again’ Season 3
The streets of Hell’s Kitchen are buzzing with significant production activity. Pakistani-Canadian actor Iman Vellani recently disclosed that she visited the filming locations for ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Season 3, which is currently underway throughout New York City.
Vellani, who plays Kamala Khan, also known as Ms. Marvel, shared this thrilling news during a recent interview. She expressed that the experience was special and provided her with insights into what the upcoming season may hold.
Production for Season 3 commenced in March and will continue through July in the New York area, with the series anticipated to premiere on Disney+ in March 2027 as part of Phase Six of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
While Vellani’s character has not been officially confirmed to appear in Season 3, her visit to the set hints at potential connections being forged between the street-level heroes of ‘Daredevil’ and the broader MCU landscape that Kamala inhabits.
Her firsthand experience on set suggests that the creative teams behind both franchises are actively collaborating and possibly exploring crossover opportunities.
This visit comes at a pivotal time for the overarching ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ narrative. Season 3 has already confirmed a significant reunion on screen. According to set photos and production reports, the Defenders are reuniting to protect New York City. Krysten Ritter is set to reprise her role as Jessica Jones, Mike Colter as Luke Cage, and Finn Jones as Danny Rand, also known as Iron Fist. This marks a major event for long-time Marvel Television fans, as these three heroes last appeared together in Netflix’s ‘The Defenders’ back in 2017.
Dario Scardapane continues as showrunner for the series, ensuring creative continuity from the previous two seasons. The expanded cast for Season 3 also includes returning favorites like Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock and Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk, who will appear despite his character’s complicated exit at the end of Season 2. Additional set reports have revealed new faces and returning characters as the story expands beyond its traditional Hell’s Kitchen boundaries.
Vellani’s own journey in the MCU has been filled with hints about future appearances. In ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Season 1, her character Kamala Khan was referenced when Matt Murdock encountered her father, Yusuf Khan, at a bank.
During that scene, Yusuf mentioned that his daughter was visiting friends in California, a detail that ignited fan theories about potential Young Avengers or Champions team formations. Many viewers speculated that Kamala might be assembling her own team of young heroes, setting the stage for future collaborative projects.
The actor has been vocal about her desire to return to the MCU following her appearances in the ‘Ms. Marvel’ Disney+ series and the 2023 film ‘The Marvels’. In previous interviews, she has expressed excitement about exploring various stories and characters within the Marvel universe. Her visit to the set of ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Season 3 could indicate that those opportunities are finally starting to come to fruition.
The logistics of how Kamala Khan might fit into the darker, more grounded street-level stories of Hell’s Kitchen remain uncertain, but the MCU has shown its ability to blend different tonal elements within its expanding storytelling framework. As Phase Six continues to evolve, the connections between shows like ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ and characters like Ms. Marvel may become clearer in future announcements.
Fans are understandably excited about the possibility of seeing Vellani’s character crossover into the ‘Daredevil’ universe, especially given the teases already laid out in Season 1. Whether her set visit leads to an official appearance or simply reflects behind-the-scenes camaraderie among cast members from different Marvel Television projects remains to be seen.
What do you think Iman Vellani’s visit to the ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ set could signify for the future of Ms. Marvel in the MCU?
