Inde Navarrette has been riding a wave of success following her breakout performance in ‘Obsession’, a horror film that transformed a modest budget of $750,000 into over $426 million globally. This remarkable box office achievement has opened doors for her beyond the film industry, placing her at the forefront of one of gaming’s most significant crossover events this summer.

This past weekend, Navarrette participated in Fanatics Fest 2026 at New York City’s Javits Center, sharing the stage with NBA star Kevin Durant, Infinity Ward studio head Mark Grigsby, and Activision marketing executive Tyler Bahl for a panel focused on ‘Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4’.

The panel, hosted by media personality Katie Nolan, marked Activision’s inaugural appearance at the massive sports and pop culture convention, which attracted around 150,000 attendees over its four-day duration.

Amidst the excitement of the weekend, a fan presented Navarrette with a thoughtful gift: an ultra-rare, sealed copy of ‘Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’, valued at approximately $1,000. This gift served as a meaningful reminder of Navarrette’s personal connection to the series, especially during a panel dedicated to promoting the latest installment of the franchise.

Navarrette’s connection to the franchise is deeply personal. In an interview with Variety, she shared that her father introduced her to the franchise through ‘Modern Warfare 2’, reminiscing about their Local Party matches together. She fondly recalled her favorite map, Rust, where she typically used a SCAR as her primary weapon and a Thumper as her secondary, although she admitted her dad often came out on top.

Navarrette also expressed what makes the franchise resonate with her on a deeper level. She explained to Variety that ‘Call of Duty’ demands her full attention, with the need to stay alert during matches providing a sense of mental clarity. Returning to the series evokes strong nostalgia tied to her childhood.

Activision’s choice to feature Navarrette in the panel aligns with a broader strategy for ‘Modern Warfare 4’, which is set in New York City and incorporates local culture, including music from the Wu-Tang Clan, into its identity. This collaboration with Fanatics Fest’s New York setting allowed the studio to engage an audience beyond the typical gaming convention attendees.

‘Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4’ is set to launch on October 23 for PS5, Xbox Series X and S, PC, and Switch 2, with Fanatics Fest attendees receiving early access to its multiplayer mode ahead of the release. For Navarrette, leaving the weekend with a piece of the very game that first captivated her is a fitting full-circle moment in her rapidly advancing career.
