As per CinemaScore polling, moviegoers rated the 2026 release an A-, a particularly impressive score for an R-rated comedy.

This score matches that of Jackass: The Movie and surpasses several subsequent entries in the series. Previous films like Jackass Number Two and Jackass 3D received B+ ratings, while Jackass Forever also fell into the B+ category. The spinoff Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa earned a lower B grade. This latest score indicates that audience satisfaction has returned to the heights of the franchise’s early success.

Directed by Jeff Tremaine, the film features producers Spike Jonze and Johnny Knoxville. It marks the final main entry in the Jackass film series following Jackass Forever (2022).

The core cast includes longtime favorites Johnny Knoxville, Steve-O, Chris Pontius, Wee Man, Preston Lacy, Dave England, and Danger Ehren. They are joined by newer members such as Poopies, Zach Holmes, Jasper Dolphin, and Rachel Wolfson. Notably, Jasper Dolphin’s father, Dark Shark, takes on a more prominent role after previous appearances in Jackass Forever and Jackass 4.5.

The film began its international rollout on June 25 in various European markets, followed by a June 26 release in the United States, with Australia and New Zealand set to open on July 2. Early audience reactions have been overwhelmingly positive, with CinemaScore reflecting strong word-of-mouth.

Critics have also responded favorably. On Rotten Tomatoes, Jackass: Best & Last boasts an 87% approval rating from 60 critics, with an average score of 6.4/10. Metacritic rates it at 63 out of 100 based on 29 reviews, indicating generally favorable responses from critics as well.

Some critics noted that the film embraces the franchise’s signature chaos while providing a sense of closure. Guy Lodge of Variety remarked, “You leave Jackass: Best and Last believing that they’ll actually miss all this and that’s enough to make us miss it too.”

With impressive audience scores and positive reviews, Jackass: Best & Last seems to have delivered precisely what fans desired, concluding the series on a high note reminiscent of its early days.
