Jason David Frank’s ‘Legend of the White Dragon’ Movie Unveils New Trailer and Release Date
Fans of Jason David Frank are getting another opportunity to see the late actor and Power Rangers icon in action. His original superhero project ‘Legend of the White Dragon’ is finally set to hit theaters, allowing fans to experience the movie Frank dedicated himself to before his passing.
Frank, renowned for his role as Tommy Oliver in the Power Rangers franchise, spent years supporting the brand and engaging with fans globally. In addition to his work in Power Rangers, he created ‘Legend of the White Dragon’ as a new superhero narrative that he hoped audiences would embrace. Although Frank passed away before the film’s release, the project is now moving forward with the support of Well Go USA Entertainment and Bat in the Sun.
A new trailer for the film has been launched, showcasing more action and expanding on the story of Frank’s character, Erik Reed, also known as the White Dragon. The footage provides fans with a closer look at the confrontation between White Dragon and his adversary Dragon Prime, along with the threats facing Reed and the city he once called home.
The trailer also delves deeper into the movie’s central conflict. Reed has spent years as a fugitive, wrongfully accused of a mysterious disaster. Now, he must return to where it all began, clear his name, and protect the people he loves. His mission pits him directly against Dragon Prime, a formidable foe who could obliterate everything Reed is striving to save.
‘Legend of the White Dragon’ is officially scheduled to arrive in theaters on August 28, 2026. This release date holds special significance for fans as it coincides with Power Rangers Day, transforming the event into a celebration of Frank’s legacy within the franchise and the superhero community he helped cultivate.
According to the announcement from Well Go USA Entertainment and Bat in the Sun, the movie will be screened in several major cities, including New York, Atlanta, Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Nashville, Phoenix, Sacramento, and Washington. The film will be shown in select AMC, Regal, and Century theaters.
Fans attending the Regal Power Rangers Day event will also receive special extras. The event will feature a unique video introduction from Jenna Rae Frank, Jason David Frank’s daughter, along with an exclusive collector’s print for ticket holders. A new poster for the film has also been unveiled as part of the celebration.
The cast features Jason David Frank as Erik Reed, the hero behind the White Dragon persona, with Aaron Schoenke portraying Dragon Prime. The film is produced by the creative team at Bat in the Sun, known for their fan-favorite superhero projects and action-driven content.
For many fans, ‘Legend of the White Dragon’ signifies more than just another superhero film. It represents a final chance to witness Frank’s passion project reach audiences and experience the character he aspired to bring to life.
