‘Jurassic Park’ Star Sam Neill Is Cancer-Free After 5-Year Battle

Actor Sam Neill, renowned for his portrayal of Dr. Alan Grant in the ‘Jurassic Park’ franchise, has shared the uplifting news that he is now cancer-free following a lengthy struggle with blood cancer.

He shared the moment he received his latest scan results, expressing, “I’ve just had a scan just now and there is no cancer in my body, that’s an extraordinary thing. I’m very, very excited that this can happen.”

The actor also mentioned that he feels ready to return to acting and is contemplating future film projects. He told 7News, “It’s time I did another movie.”

In addition to his personal recovery, Neill is advocating for broader access to CAR T-cell therapy in Australia, where it is primarily available through clinical trials.

He had been treated for angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma, which was diagnosed after he noticed swollen glands while promoting ‘Jurassic World Dominion’ in 2022. In that film, he reprised his role alongside co-stars such as Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum, as well as Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard.

At the time of his diagnosis, Neill expressed his thoughts on life, stating, “I’m not afraid to die, but it would annoy me.” He emphasized his desire for more time with his family and to witness the growth of his grandchildren.
