Kevin Hart and Katt Williams End Feud With Surprising Moment at Netflix Roast
Kevin Hart and Katt Williams have finally set aside their long-standing feud during Netflix’s live roast event at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles. This unexpected moment took fans by surprise after years of public tension, interviews, and online jabs exchanged between the two comedians.
At the roast event, Katt Williams made a surprise appearance and immediately poked fun at his complicated relationship with Hart.
“I’m surprised they invited me,” Williams quipped to the audience after being introduced by Regina Hall. “That’s how little star power you have. They had to start inviting your enemies. I said, ‘I hate him.’ They said, ‘Come anyway.’”
The rivalry between the two comedians has been ongoing for years. Their issues resurfaced in 2024 when Williams accused Hart of being an industry plant and taking roles that could have gone to him. The feud initially ignited years earlier when Williams criticized Tiffany Haddish’s rise in comedy before she starred alongside Hart in ‘Night School.’ Hart defended Haddish, and since then, both comedians have continued to take shots at each other.
During the roast, Williams did not hold back with his humor.
“Kevin, you gonna hear some things tonight that you’re not familiar with. Those things are called punchlines,” he joked. He also took aim at Hart’s connections in Hollywood and referenced Hart’s controversial appearance at the Riyadh Comedy Festival in Saudi Arabia.
Williams continued with more pointed jokes directed at Hart.
“Before he saw my act, he was a 6-foot man,” he remarked. “I tried to tell y’all that Kevin Hart was a plant, because I keep burying him. He keeps springing back the fuck up, just like a plant.”
He later added another quip about Netflix’s relationship with Hart, saying, “I meant that the head of Netflix literally has his whole hand up Kevin’s ass and can make him do anything.”
Despite the harsh humor, the atmosphere shifted towards the end of Williams’ set. Hart approached him on stage, shook his hand, and embraced him in front of the audience.
Hart then expressed his desire to put an end to their feud once and for all.
“Me and this man have been at odds for years on years,” Hart said. “You coming out here, quite the fucking surprise. But Katt, I can sit, I can watch you, I can laugh because I’m a fucking fan first.” Hart went on to publicly extend an olive branch during the live event.
“This is live television to put our fucking beef behind us. I am offering you an olive branch of peace. I want to be a brother. I want to be a friend, Katt. I want to move on. Can we move on?” Later in the roast, Hart also addressed Williams’ previous claim that he had taken movie roles from him.
“Katt said tonight that I took all his movies that he turned down,” Hart joked while listing some of his biggest films. “So you could do a cameo in ‘Norbit.’ What the fuck are you telling me?” Nonetheless, Hart made it clear that the feud was over.
“It’s not good for all these white people to see two Black people fighting,” he stated. “So Katt, it’s over. The beef is over between me and Katt.”
This moment became one of the standout highlights of Netflix’s roast and marked the first time both comedians publicly reconciled after years of conflict.
