Laura Harrier Dazzles in Little Black Dress with Stunning New Instagram Photos
Laura Harrier has a longstanding love affair with the little black dress. Earlier this year, she made a statement at YSL Beauty’s pre-Coachella party in Indio, California, wearing a slinky black dress featuring lace-up cutouts and a daring thigh-high slit. She completed her look with high-heeled flip-flops and stylish rectangular sunglasses.
This trend continues as Harrier frequently appears on best-dressed lists. Her stunning 2026 Met Gala ensemble included a draped sheer brown gown by Di Petsa for ShopMy, which she later swapped for a black sheer dress with delicate straps and a high slit for the after-party.
Recently, on October 1, Harrier shared a series of captivating images on Instagram, captioned “@ysl @anthonyvaccarello the most brilliant show 🖤 it was such an honor to witness thank you thank you.”
In the first image, she poses against rich, dark wood paneling in an off-the-shoulder black dress adorned with tiered ruffles at the neckline, sleeves, and hem. Her long, dark hair cascades straight down her back as she glances over her shoulder at the camera.
The second photo features a bright marble staircase, where Harrier sits with her legs crossed in the same dress, sporting small black sunglasses and raising one hand to her temple. She completes the monochrome look with sheer black tights and pointed black slingback heels with an ankle strap.
The contrast in settings is striking. One is moody and dimly lit, while the other is bright and airy, yet the black dress seamlessly ties them together. This styling approach is one Harrier has embraced before, and she has previously noted that her time in New York City has significantly influenced her fashion sense.
These stunning photos come during a busy period for Harrier. She portrays Suzanne de Passe in ‘Michael’, the biopic that explores the origin story of the King of Pop, set to release on April 24. Additionally, she graced the spring cover of S Magazine, where she expressed her desire to take on characters she hasn’t yet explored and portray types of women she hasn’t had the chance to play.
More projects are on the horizon. Coveteur highlighted that her packed schedule includes four upcoming films, with IMDb listing ‘The Technique’, ‘Strobe’, and ‘Lords of War’ currently in post-production. This diverse slate indicates a thoughtful shift towards varied roles.
Harrier has also been active off-screen. She led a campaign and short film for STAUD and Amex Gold, and collaborated with designer Tiffany Howell on a Crate & Barrel collection. This line reflects their mutual love for vintage cinema and glamorous fashion, stemming from a friendship that blossomed while working on her home together.
Her journey to this point has been anything but conventional. Harrier moved to New York City at 18 to attend NYU, where she began modeling professionally and later took acting classes at the William Esper Studio on a whim. In 2017, she made her mark as Liz in ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’, which introduced her to the Hollywood scene.
She followed this with Spike Lee’s ‘BlacKkKlansman’, featuring John David Washington and Adam Driver, which received six Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture. This blend of modeling finesse and acting credentials explains why her style moments garner as much attention as her film roles.
Harrier’s latest photos serve as a reminder of her multifaceted talent. With a major biopic, several upcoming films, and a consistent stream of red-carpet appearances, she has become a prominent figure in both the fashion and film industries.
