Major ‘General Hospital’ Star Kate Mansi Exits After 3 Years
Fans of ‘General Hospital’ are preparing to bid farewell to a beloved character. Actress Kate Mansi will be leaving the iconic ABC daytime drama after three years in the role of Kristina Corinthos-Davis.
The news of Mansi’s departure was initially reported by Soap Opera Network and later confirmed by soap journalist Stephanie Sloane, who shared insights from both the actress and the show’s executive producer, Frank Valentini. Reports indicate that Mansi’s final episodes are set to air in June.
Mansi joined the soap in 2023, stepping into the shoes of Kristina Corinthos-Davis, a character previously portrayed by Lexi Ainsworth. Before her time on ‘General Hospital,’ Mansi was already a familiar face to soap fans, thanks to her nearly decade-long role as Abigail Deveraux on ‘Days of Our Lives.’
During her tenure on ‘General Hospital,’ Mansi became involved in several poignant storylines and received a Daytime Emmy nomination for her outstanding performance. She previously won a Daytime Emmy Award in 2017 for her work on ‘Days of Our Lives.’ In addition to acting, she directed two episodes of the ABC soap during her time there.

In an interview with Stephanie Sloane for her newsletter, Mansi revealed that her decision to leave was a personal one. She mentioned that new career opportunities and changes in her personal life were significant factors in her choice.
“I’ve made the very difficult decision to leave ‘General Hospital’,” Mansi stated. “I have a few new projects that require my full attention and with my husband currently producing a series filming primarily abroad, I needed the flexibility to travel while continuing to develop and work in Los Angeles.”
Mansi also expressed her gratitude for her time on the show and the significance of her role. She noted that one of the reasons she accepted the part was the opportunity to advocate for important issues, such as LGBTQ+ representation and an endometriosis storyline.
“When Frank first approached me about the role, two things deeply resonated with me: the opportunity to show my support for the queer community by playing an LGBTQ+ character, and to help tell an endometriosis storyline,” Mansi shared. “Together, I truly feel we honored both of those stories in a way that mattered.”
She added, “It’s been such a meaningful and unforgettable ride. I’ve loved being a fiery Corinthos-Davis girl in such a phenomenal family.”
Valentini also commended Mansi following the announcement, emphasizing that the production team respects her decision and would welcome her back in the future.
“We love Kate and support her decision to leave,” Valentini remarked. “The door is always open and we appreciate all that she has added to the show these past three years.”
Outside of daytime television, Mansi has been involved in various projects, including the drama series ‘Casa Grande’ and the indie film ‘Legend of the Muse’ from 2020. She has also recently spoken publicly about her personal battle with endometriosis, detailing how the condition affected her while filming earlier in her career.
As her final episodes draw near, many longtime viewers are likely to miss her portrayal of Kristina, especially after the heartfelt and personal narratives she brought to life on screen.
