Marvel Brings Back Danny Rand in New ‘The Undead Iron Fist’ Series

And while Danny Rand never became a mainstream hero, he is nevertheless one of Marvel’s most important superheroes and a character with a loyal fanbase, which further increased after the live-action series.

But, Rand’s recent comic book journey has been quite grim, as you probably know. Danny Rand – spoiler warning – tragically died in the Iron Fist 50th Anniversary Special, but Marvel is bringing him back, although not in the way we expected.

Namely, we can confirm that a special, four-part series is bringing back Danny Rand in the form of an undead character. The series will be titled The Undead Iron Fist, and we have all the information here.

The series comes to us from Jason Loo and Fran Galán, and it will explore what happens when Danny Rand returns to the story, but as an undead superhero who, well… check out what the official synopsis says:

The Book of the Iron Fist declares that every IRON FIST will die by the age of 33…but who created this false prophecy? Danny Rand was killed…but can you truly kill an IMMORTAL IRON FIST? Learn the truth about the legacy of the Iron Fist as Danny Rand rises once more to snuff out those that threaten that legacy…before Danny’s time run out.

As you can see, the Immortal Iron Fist will venture on a journey to expose K’un-Lun’s darkest secret, but also to reveal more about the reality he was (or is) in. “I was so relieved to not encounter any fan backlash or outrage when I killed off Danny Rand. Because there was always a plan to bring him back, but we wanted to make the fans wait,” Jason Loo said.

“Not only was I busy plotting his next explosive chapter, Danny has been going through his own journey to find his way back into the 616 land of the living. And from the very first issue, he’s back swinging with ruthless vengeance. Artist Fran Galán is bringing so much wicked kineticism on every page, readers are going to be floored by this book,” he added.
