Doctor Doom might be ruling the world for now, but things are heating up fast in Marvel’s big comic event One World Under Doom. Starting this September, a huge fightback begins as Earth’s heroes finally rise up to challenge Doom’s rule, and they’re ready to risk everything to take him down.

Marvel recently revealed what fans can expect in the upcoming issues, and it sounds like Doom’s grip on power might be slipping. Even with the world under his control, rebellion is spreading and the resistance is growing stronger.

In One World Under Doom #7, written by Ryan North with art by R.B. Silva, Mister Fantastic is getting ready for a last-ditch plan to stop Doom once and for all. According to Marvel, “Doom once sought glory, but that glory is now dead. All that is left is power and control.”

While the world rises against him, Doom is preparing for one final, brutal showdown. “Only a few can see the truth… it’s not enough. Emperor Doom is going to win. And so Mr. Fantastic prepares a last, desperate gamble…”

Another big moment comes in Fantastic Four #3, where Reed Richards and the team uncover Doom’s big secret, how he’s been able to stay ahead of everyone for so long. They think they’ve figured out a way to beat him, but it means heading to the icy corners of Antarctica and breaking into one of Doom’s hidden bases.

Marvel says fans can expect “Doom vs. the Fantastic Four in a way you’ve never seen before… and to the winner goes the freedom of an entire planet.”

There are also some important tie-in issues connected to the event. Red Hulk #8, by Benjamin Percy and Geoff Shaw, will follow Thunderbolt Ross as he’s forced into becoming an even more dangerous weapon. Ryker wants to use him for his own plans, but the question is whether Wildstreak will help Ross escape or leave him to his fate. War Wolf is also in the picture, with plans of his own.

Over in Runaways #4, Nico Minoru’s struggle continues. She’s been trying to get her powers back, and now we might finally see if it worked. Gert has been helping her train, and the team is running out of time before something even worse shows up. And it looks like Doombot, who’s been part of the group, might not be on their side anymore. “Has Doombot finally embraced the Will of Doom and turned on his family?!” Marvel teases.

Lastly, Superior Avengers #6 brings a dramatic turn. Kristoff, who has been trying to make Doom proud, might have made a huge mistake. This could be the breaking point for the Avengers. As Marvel puts it, “This may be his biggest failure ever.”

All these stories come together as Doom’s empire starts to crack. But whether Earth’s heroes can really bring him down is still up in the air. Everything kicks off in September, so fans won’t have to wait long to find out what happens next.
