The anticipation for one of Marvel’s most ambitious crossovers has fans eagerly refreshing their feeds for any hint of what ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ might reveal. With a star-studded cast that includes members from the Avengers, the X-Men, and the Fantastic Four, the demand for behind-the-scenes glimpses has reached an all-time high.

This intense curiosity has created an ideal environment for confusion to flourish. Marvel Studios has kept details tightly under wraps, with the only full trailer for the film reportedly secured at CinemaCon since April, leaving a void that fans and opportunists have rushed to fill.

In this void, a surge of alleged leaks has emerged, featuring pixelated clips that show heroes battling robotic foes and unexpected crossover appearances. Reports indicate that numerous videos and images claiming to showcase ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ footage have circulated widely, featuring Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom alongside scenes of heroes fighting Sentinels and other beloved characters making surprise appearances.

However, distinguishing the authentic from the fake has become nearly impossible. One viral video garnered around seven million views before being revealed as an AI-generated creation, complete with subtle indicators like a Thor who resembled Heath Ledger and a Scarlet Witch looking like Taylor Swift. Despite these clues, the clip was convincing enough to mislead many viewers during a quick scroll.

Industry experts have commented on this trend, noting a recurring pattern. Observers have pointed out that some of these supposed leaks exhibit suspiciously sharp detail in certain frames while appearing blurry in others, despite claiming to have been filmed simultaneously, which is often a telltale sign of AI manipulation. This issue is not exclusive to Marvel, as similar fake set videos have circulated for other major franchises before being quickly debunked.

Adding to the confusion is Marvel’s own silence. When a separate clip featuring Doctor Doom activating a force of Sentinels alongside Thor and Steve Rogers began to spread, fans noticed something odd. Nearly a full day after the footage circulated on social media, Marvel Studios had not issued a single DMCA takedown, leading many fans to speculate that the clip might be fake or AI-generated.

The reasoning behind this theory seems logical at first glance. In the past, when authentic Marvel footage has leaked, including teasers from December and a bootlegged ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ trailer, Disney’s legal team has typically acted swiftly to remove it from the internet.

However, not everyone is convinced that the silence indicates anything. Some have pointed out that several outlets reviewing the Sentinel clip believed it appeared authentic rather than AI-generated, and a well-known industry insider described related leaked images of Wolverine, Spider-Man, and Deadpool as completely real. This footage also reportedly aligns with previously leaked set photos and descriptions from the CinemaCon trailer, which adds a layer of credibility for skeptics.

In addition to the footage, fans have been sharing detailed plot breakdowns that claim to unveil the film’s storyline. According to circulating descriptions, the alleged plot connects Doctor Doom’s origin to a multiversal Incursion event that left him disfigured and motivated him to reshape reality in his own image. Whether any of this holds true once the film is released remains to be seen.

As the leak saga unfolds online, Marvel’s release calendar continues to take shape. ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ is scheduled to hit theaters on July 31, featuring Peter Parker fighting crime in a world that no longer remembers him. ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ follows a few months later on December 18, uniting heroes from across the MCU, the X-Men franchise, and the Fantastic Four for what promises to be an epic ensemble showdown.

With both films generating immense buzz and an endless cycle of leaks fueling further speculation, the line between genuine sneak peeks and AI fabrications has never been more blurred. What do you think is really happening with these alleged leaks? Share your thoughts in the comments.
