Netflix and Rockstar Games are collaborating on what could be one of the most significant gaming promotions the streaming service has ever hosted. Fans will soon have an exciting opportunity to experience the buzz surrounding ‘Grand Theft Auto VI’ with an exclusive extended preview set to debut on Netflix later this year.

The presentation, titled ‘Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look,’ is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on August 27, 2026. This event will provide fans with an in-depth look at Rockstar’s highly anticipated open-world game, which has become one of the most awaited entertainment releases in recent years.

According to Netflix, the extended look will be accessible globally for subscribers at 3 p.m. ET and 12 p.m. PT on August 27. For those without a Netflix subscription, the presentation will also be available later on Rockstar Games’ official YouTube channel and the ‘Grand Theft Auto VI’ website at 9 p.m. ET on the same day.

This announcement signifies a significant advancement in the growing partnership between Netflix and Rockstar. While some fans may find the collaboration surprising, the two companies have already established a connection through Netflix’s gaming division.

Previously, Rockstar introduced ‘Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition’ to Netflix Games, where it quickly became one of the platform’s most downloaded titles. The partnership has since expanded with the addition of ‘Red Dead Redemption,’ another major franchise from Rockstar. Securing an exclusive first look at ‘GTA VI’ represents a much larger collaboration between the two companies.

Netflix’s involvement comes at a pivotal moment for the ‘Grand Theft Auto’ franchise. The last installment, ‘Grand Theft Auto V,’ was released in 2013, coinciding with Netflix’s significant push into original programming. Over a decade later, both entities have emerged as major players in their respective industries, making this collaboration feel like a convergence of two global entertainment titans.

Brandon Riegg, Netflix’s Vice President of Nonfiction Series, emphasized that this partnership reflects the company’s ambition to be a hub for major entertainment moments across various formats. He stated, “Grand Theft Auto reveals have become cultural moments in their own right. The anticipation and fandom around ‘Grand Theft Auto VI’ is unprecedented, and we’re honored that Rockstar Games has partnered with us to debut the next part of the ‘Grand Theft Auto’ story with Netflix members first.”

Riegg also noted that this collaboration aligns with Netflix’s broader goal of delivering significant stories from diverse entertainment forms to a global audience.

The extended preview is set to arrive just a few months before the official launch of ‘Grand Theft Auto VI.’ Rockstar has confirmed that the game will be released on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

‘GTA VI’ has already sparked immense interest since its initial trailer release, with fans meticulously analyzing every detail regarding the game’s world, characters, and features. The upcoming title will return players to the fictional state of Leonida and will include the much-anticipated return to Vice City, featuring protagonists Lucia and Jason.

With Netflix and Rockstar now collaborating to showcase the game, excitement is expected to soar as the release date approaches. For millions of fans eager for the next chapter in this legendary franchise, August 27 could mark another significant moment in ‘GTA’ history.
