The standout film is ‘The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth,’ which sees Brad Pitt reprising his Oscar-winning role. Directed by David Fincher and written by Quentin Tarantino, the film is set in 1977, eight years after ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,’ as Cliff navigates a transformed Hollywood landscape.
In a unique move, Netflix will give the film an exclusive two-week IMAX run starting on November 25, before it becomes available on the platform on December 23. This marks Netflix’s first global IMAX release. The cast also features Elizabeth Debicki, Scott Caan, Carla Gugino, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and Peter Weller.
Brad Pitt isn’t the only star in this lineup. The film slate also includes ‘Animals’ with Ben Affleck and Kerry Washington, ‘Ray Gunn’ directed by Brad Bird featuring Scarlett Johansson and Sam Rockwell, and ‘Bad Day’ starring Cameron Diaz. The animated film ‘Steps’ showcases talents like Ali Wong, Stephanie Hsu, and Amanda Seyfried, while ‘La Bola Negra’ from Spain and ‘Possible Love’ from South Korea are among the international Oscar submissions.
On the television front, ‘Emily in Paris’ will bid farewell with its sixth season premiering on December 24. This final chapter takes Emily from Greece to Monaco and back to Paris. The series first debuted in October 2020, with Season 5 releasing in December 2025.
Netflix is also diving into true crime with ‘The Murder of JonBenét Ramsey,’ set to premiere on December 10. The limited series stars Melissa McCarthy and Clive Owen as Patsy and John Ramsey and was initially developed for Paramount+ before transitioning to Netflix in July.
The series lineup is robust, featuring ‘Pride and Prejudice’ on December 3 with all six episodes available at once, along with ‘The Diplomat’ Season 4, ‘Lupin’ Part 4, ‘The Empress’ Season 3, ‘East of Eden,’ ‘The Hunting Wives’ Season 2, ‘The Body,’ and ‘Below.’
Sports are also taking center stage. The Green Bay Packers will face the Los Angeles Rams on Wednesday, November 25, in the NFL’s inaugural Thanksgiving Eve game, starting at 8 p.m. ET at SoFi Stadium, featuring a halftime show by U2. Following that, Netflix will air its Christmas Day doubleheader, after last year’s Christmas broadcast of the Lions and Vikings became the most-streamed NFL regular-season game in U.S. history.
The grand finale will be the long-awaited heavyweight clash between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua on December 11 at Principality Stadium in Cardiff, streaming globally for Netflix members at no additional cost. Fury enters the ring with a record of 36 wins, 2 losses, and 1 draw, while Joshua stands at 30-4, both having fought earlier this year.
With this packed lineup, Netflix aims to keep viewers engaged throughout the holiday season. Whether you’re excited for Pitt’s IMAX return, a final visit to Paris, a Thanksgiving Eve football game, or a heavyweight boxing match, there’s something for everyone from early December through Christmas.
