Amazon’s upcoming ‘Life Is Strange’ TV series is beginning to resemble the beloved game that fans cherish. According to Variety, several prominent cast members have been added to the adaptation, joining previously announced stars Maisy Stella and Tatum Grace Hopkins.

Based on the acclaimed ‘Life Is Strange’ video game franchise, the series is currently in development at Amazon Prime Video. The narrative follows Max, portrayed by Hopkins, a photography student who unexpectedly discovers her ability to rewind time. After saving her childhood best friend Chloe, played by Stella, the duo becomes entangled in a mystery surrounding the disappearance of another student in their town.

Variety reports that Tom Cullen has officially joined the cast as Mark Jefferson, Max’s photography teacher. Fans of the original game will recognize this character as a pivotal figure in the storyline. Additionally, Leisha Hailey has been cast as Joyce Price, Chloe’s mother, while Raúl Castillo will portray David Madsen, Chloe’s strict stepfather. Owen Teague is set to take on the role of Frank Bowers, the local drug dealer linked to the central mystery.

The casting decisions are generating buzz online, as many fans believe the actors embody the game’s darker and emotional tone. The show seems to remain faithful to the original story from the first ‘Life Is Strange’ game, which debuted in 2015 and quickly became one of the most beloved narrative games of its era.

Tom Cullen is recognized for his roles in ‘House of the Dragon’, ‘Black Mirror’, and ‘Downton Abbey’. Leisha Hailey is well-known for her work in ‘The L Word’ and has a rich music career. Raúl Castillo has appeared in ‘Looking’, ‘Army of the Dead’, and ‘The Walking Dead: Dead City’. Owen Teague is familiar to audiences from ‘It’, ‘It: Chapter Two’, and ‘Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes’.

The series is being created by Charlie Covell, who will also serve as showrunner. Mackenzie Dohr is writing and executive producing the project. Karyn Kusama, known for films like ‘Jennifer’s Body’ and ‘Destroyer’, will direct the first two episodes.

Prime Video first picked up the project in September 2025, and fans have been eagerly anticipating how the adaptation will portray the game’s emotional narrative and supernatural elements. The original game gained fame for its blend of mystery, teen drama, and choice-driven storytelling, particularly the relationship between Max and Chloe.
