Marvel’s television lineup has gradually pieced together one of its most emotionally intricate family narratives, and the conclusion is finally on the horizon. What began as a grief-driven fantasy in ‘WandaVision’ has evolved into a multi-series exploration of identity, loss, and legacy, with its final chapter set to highlight a significant relationship.

‘VisionQuest’ is poised to wrap up the trilogy that started with ‘WandaVision’ and continued through ‘Agatha All Along,’ following Paul Bettany’s Vision as he navigates fragmented memories and seeks his identity after his resurrection. The series has sparked considerable excitement not only for Bettany’s return but also for the reintroduction of characters closely linked to his complex family history.

This anticipation intensified this week with the release of a new exclusive photo, featured in ScreenRant’s 2026 Fall TV Preview, showcasing Bettany’s Vision alongside Ruaridh Mollica’s Tommy Maximoff in what seems to be a tense, neon-lit street scene. The image provides one of the clearest glimpses yet into the dynamic between Vision and the adult version of his and Wanda’s son, a relationship expected to be at the emotional center of the series.

Mollica’s casting as an older Tommy Maximoff, also known as Speed, was first confirmed at New York Comic Con, marking a notable recasting from Jett Klyne, who played the character as a child in both ‘WandaVision’ and ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.’ According to the show’s trailer, Vision spends much of the series grappling with what is real about his fractured past, including whether he truly fathered Tommy and what kind of relationship they might forge now.

This uncertainty ties back to Tommy’s intricate comic-inspired origins, having originally been a magical creation born from Wanda’s grief and reality-warping abilities during ‘WandaVision.’ His return in ‘VisionQuest’ continues a narrative thread first explored through his twin brother Billy in ‘Agatha All Along,’ where Billy’s storyline unfolded following the breaking of Wanda’s spell and his eventual friendship with Agatha Harkness.

In addition to the central dynamic between Vision and Tommy, ‘VisionQuest’ features a notably dense array of Marvel’s artificial intelligence characters, with James Spader reprising his role as Ultron, Emily Hampshire as E.D.I.T.H., Orla Brady as F.R.I.D.A.Y., James D’Arcy as J.A.R.V.I.S., and T’Nia Miller as Jocasta. This ensemble reflects the show’s broader premise, delving into the various AI personalities Vision has quietly preserved within his programming over the years.

Terry Matalas serves as showrunner for the eight-episode limited series, marking his first major Marvel project following his acclaimed tenure on ‘Star Trek: Picard.’ The series is described as the third and final installment in the trilogy that began with ‘WandaVision,’ establishing it as a genuine capstone to a storyline that has spanned multiple Disney+ shows since 2021.

‘VisionQuest’ is confirmed to premiere on Disney+ on October 14, arriving as one of the last live-action Marvel television projects currently scheduled, alongside a third season of ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ set for 2027. Reports suggest Marvel Studios may be scaling back its live-action Disney+ output moving forward, although the studio has yet to officially confirm any strategic changes.

With the show positioned as the emotional conclusion to Vision and Wanda’s shared story arc across three separate Disney+ series, this latest photo of Vision and Tommy together indicates that ‘VisionQuest’ is fully embracing the family drama at the heart of its premise.
