‘Obsession’ Star Inde Navarrette Becomes Gap’s New Face for Fall 2026 Campaign
Fall fashion campaigns often blend together, but occasionally a brand successfully combines the right talent with the perfect vibe to capture attention. This season, Gap has achieved that feat by enlisting two rising stars whose collective energy is hard to overlook.
While Gap has leaned into denim nostalgia in recent years, this marketing initiative feels more like a celebration of its newest ambassadors. Social media has already taken notice, with campaign clips and images generating significant engagement since their release.
The excitement revolves around Gap’s Fall 2026 campaign, ‘Denim on Your Own,’ featuring musician Malcolm Todd and actress Inde Navarrette. The campaign showcases GapDenim, set to Todd’s unique rendition of Robyn’s iconic ‘Dancing on My Own,’ specifically recorded for this project.

Directed by Tanu Muiño and creatively led by Calvin Leung, Gap’s Head of Brand Creative, the campaign features photography by Bjorn Iooss. It follows Todd and Navarrette through various settings, showcasing their individual styles, with Navarrette sporting the new Mid-Rise Straight Taper Jean and Todd in the returning ’90s Loose Jean.

‘Denim on Your Own’ has launched across Gap’s digital and social platforms, email, and in stores, along with out-of-home advertising including billboards in Times Square and Sunset Boulevard. The campaign also features paid media on YouTube, TikTok, Meta, and Pinterest, marking it as one of Gap’s most ambitious efforts this year.

For Navarrette, the shoot was more than just modeling new denim. She expressed that the experience allowed her and Todd to showcase their true selves rather than adhering to a strict script.
“There was so much freedom to move, experiment, and express ourselves,” Navarrette shared in a statement from Gap. “That’s what makes style so personal — it’s about feeling confident in who you are and showing up as yourself.”
This sense of freedom has extended beyond the Gap set for Navarrette this year. In an interview with Rolling Stone about her 2026 journey, she noted a common thread connecting her creative decisions, from acting to personal style.
“I had the freedom to bring Nikki to life in ‘Obsession,’ and then I’ve had the freedom now with clothes,” Navarrette told Rolling Stone. “I feel like freedom was kind of my theme of the year.”
Her reference to ‘Obsession’ is significant, as the film has played a crucial role in her rapid rise this year. The independent horror film, produced on a modest budget of $750,000, has grossed over $488 million globally, making Navarrette’s lead role as Nikki one of the year’s most discussed breakout performances.
The film’s success has also sparked early Oscar buzz surrounding her performance, adding to the momentum of a year that already includes a major fashion campaign. This swift ascent makes brands like Gap eager to feature a fresh face in their legacy product lines.
Navarrette shows no signs of slowing down, with the thriller ‘Invertigo’ already in the pipeline, produced by the team behind ‘Obsession.’ With a horror hit, a high-profile campaign, and awards discussions surrounding her, 2026 is shaping up to be the year that transforms Navarrette from a promising newcomer into a notable industry figure.
