‘Pacific Rim’ Live-Action TV Show in the Works at Amazon

A new Pacific Rim live-action TV series is officially in development, and it’s heading to Amazon Prime Video.
The series will be made by Legendary Television and Amazon MGM Studios. It was first reported back in 2024, and now the project is moving forward.
The show will be written and produced by Eric Heisserer, who is best known for his work on Netflix’s Shadow and Bone and the movie Arrival. This series is the first to come out of his deal with Legendary under his company, Chronology.
The new Pacific Rim series will be a prequel to the movies, though exact details about the story are still secret. Sources say that more movies might still happen in the future, but for now, the focus is on this new show.
The Pacific Rim franchise started in 2013 with a movie directed by Guillermo del Toro. It was a global hit, earning over $400 million worldwide. The second movie, Pacific Rim: Uprising, came out in 2018. There was also an animated show called Pacific Rim: The Black, which ran for two seasons on Netflix between 2021 and 2022.
The franchise has also grown beyond movies and TV, with comic books, novels, toys, and more.
This is just one of many new shows being worked on by Legendary and Amazon. The studios are also teaming up on a mystery series called Murdle, based on puzzle books, and have other projects like Monarch on Apple TV+ and Dune: Prophecy on Max.
