Rebecca Henderson, who plays Jedi Master Vernestra Rwoh in The Acolyte, recently marked the show’s one-year anniversary with a heartfelt message to fans. On social media, she expressed her gratitude, writing, “Thank you for all your love and support! #RenewTheAcolyte #AcolyteSummer.”

Henderson’s portrayal of Vernestra Rwoh brings to life a character first introduced in the Star Wars: The High Republic novels. In The Acolyte, set about a century after the events of the books, Vernestra has matured into a wise and experienced Jedi Master.

Henderson shared insights into her character’s evolution, noting, “She’s a revered Jedi Master. The series is set about 100 years on from when we’ve seen Vernestra [in other High Republic media], so she’s certainly an elder, who thinks she’s seen it all.”

The call to #RenewTheAcolyte has been gaining momentum among fans eager for a second season. While there has been no official announcement regarding the show’s renewal, several books and comics later expanded the show’s original storyline as prequels.

Originally, Disney cancelled The Acolyte after just 8 episodes due to notoriously low viewership and abysmal reviews. The reviews were partially the result of review-bombing due to the show’s “woke” themes and partially due to the disappointing quality that the high-budget show delivered.
