Rebel Wilson is embroiled in a complicated legal battle in Sydney, facing accusations of leaking a private nude photo of actress Charlotte MacInnes, who has labeled her as “abusive” during a contentious defamation trial. These allegations surfaced in court last Friday, as reported by The Sun, amid proceedings involving both Wilson and MacInnes.

MacInnes, known for her role in ‘The Deb,’ testified under oath that her Snapchat account was allegedly hacked shortly after she filed a defamation lawsuit against Wilson in September 2025. She stated that the hack resulted in a private nude image shared with her boyfriend being disseminated to all her contacts.

Describing the incident as profoundly distressing, she expressed in her statement, “It was completely terrifying and caused me a new kind of anxiety. I was not myself for some time after.”

Her boyfriend, Carlo Boumouglbay, corroborated her testimony, indicating that MacInnes was extremely anxious during this period, believing Wilson might be monitoring her. He remarked, “She was fearful for her safety and felt vulnerable.”

MacInnes further accused Wilson of hiring someone to execute the hack shortly after the lawsuit was initiated, adding complexity to an already fraught legal confrontation between the two actresses.

Wilson has firmly denied all allegations, vehemently contesting the hacking claim in court, labeling it as unfounded. She reportedly stated, “That is absolutely an outrageous statement to make in court, that I moonlight as a hacker.”

This dispute is part of a broader defamation case linked to the film ‘The Deb,’ which Wilson directed and co-starred in alongside MacInnes. MacInnes initially sued Wilson, alleging that Wilson tarnished her reputation by implying she was involved in concealing misconduct allegations against producer Amanda Ghost.

MacInnes also claimed that Wilson had allegedly engaged a PR firm to target Ghost and others associated with the film. Wilson has denied these allegations as well, although court documents reportedly mentioned a prior agreement involving payments to a public relations agency.

The case has drawn in various industry figures, with accusations, denials, and internal disputes related to the production of ‘The Deb’ being presented in court.

Wilson continues to face multiple legal challenges tied to the project, including separate defamation claims from producers involved in the film.

The court proceedings are ongoing in Sydney, with additional testimony anticipated as the trial progresses.
