Reese Witherspoon’s Son Deacon Phillippe Shines at ‘Elle’ Premiere, Fans Call Him Her Twin
Reese Witherspoon made the premiere of her upcoming series ‘Elle’ a memorable family affair by bringing her son Deacon Phillippe along for the evening. The actress and producer attended the New York City premiere on June 23, where their stylish appearances and striking resemblance quickly captivated fans.
At 50, Witherspoon looked radiant in a pink gown adorned with lace and floral accents, reminiscent of her iconic style from ‘Legally Blonde.’ Deacon, 22, complemented her look in a black suit paired with a pink tie that matched his mother’s ensemble. Following the release of event photos online, many fans remarked on Deacon’s striking resemblance to Reese, with some dubbing him her “male version.”
The premiere celebrated ‘Elle,’ the anticipated prequel series to ‘Legally Blonde,’ which delves into the earlier years of Witherspoon’s beloved character, Elle Woods. Witherspoon is actively involved as an executive producer, helping to usher in a new chapter of this cherished franchise.
Deacon is also carving out his own niche in the entertainment industry. Following in the footsteps of both his mother and father, actor Ryan Phillippe, he appeared alongside Ryan in the 2025 coming-of-age drama ‘Motorheads,’ which debuted on Prime Video.
Ryan previously shared his thoughts on working with Deacon during an interview with Us Weekly in May 2025. He described the experience as incredibly special, stating, “It’s so unique to be in a situation like this where you’re both working on a show with really good people.” He added, “There were times when we would look at each other and just be like, ‘Can you believe that we’re actually doing this?’”
Motorheads co-star Nathalie Kelley had high praise for Deacon, calling him a thoughtful and impressive young actor. In her conversation with Us Weekly, Kelley remarked, “[Deacon is] the most charismatic, polite, thoughtful young man I have ever met.” She further expressed, “If this is what the new generation of men are coming out, looking like, sounding like, acting like, then I feel more at ease about the future of our species.”
Kelley also noted the significance of witnessing Ryan support his son during his first major acting role, highlighting the pride Ryan took in Deacon’s performance.
Despite their divorce years ago, Reese and Ryan have maintained a strong co-parenting relationship. The couple began dating in 1997 after meeting before filming ‘Cruel Intentions.’ They married in 1999, separated in 2006, and finalized their divorce in 2007.
A source previously informed Us Weekly that the two remain close friends and have successfully co-parented over the years. “She is very close to Ryan,” the insider noted, emphasizing their continued support for their children’s aspirations.
The source also mentioned that both parents encourage Deacon and their daughter Ava, 26, to pursue their dreams in the entertainment industry if they choose to do so.
‘Elle’ is set to premiere on Prime Video on July 1, introducing audiences to a younger version of Elle Woods before the events of the original ‘Legally Blonde’ films.
